Why are middle schoolers so inapropriate these days?

Middle schoolers are , for lack of better words, big hormones without training. They are experimenting with and testing llimits, learning about sex both in and out of school, and are over exposed to sex and violence in many media types.
Middle schoolers are curious, it's just normal.
Keeping this in mind, all middle schoolers are like this, however some kids take it to the extreme. They are over-stimulated and have access to waaay to much information.
Appreciate your child's openess. Talk openly back about the ideas and jokes he is bringing home. He may be really curious about them and have questions that he doesn't know how to bring out and is trying to communicate with you. Be open about your feelings and how innappropriate comments can make women, girls and people in general feel uncomfortable.
If he has a sister, remind him that guys might be talking about her llike that one day. ANd how would that make him feel?
You won't get him to stop talking that way around his friends, However, a good rule to keep in mind is that there a consequences for your behavior and words. Don't be loud and obnoxious in places where he doesn't want to do with the consequences.
Just tell your child that this type of talk is offensive to you and that you would not like to hear him say these thing or repeat what he hears others say.
This type of disrespect for women and others comes from no parental guidance or moral fiber being taught in schools or at home. It isn't cool or a sign of intelligence.
Too much early exposure to sex on television, games and in movies. Parents need to take a stand and stop letting garbage get into their young ones minds and refuse to allow them to spew that crap they hear at school and from TV, radio and movies.
All kids do this to some extent they are searching for limits...so put some limits on it.
The reason is parents, teachers, and administrators do not discipline the children anymore. Do the adults around him act like idiots? This is the #1 reason
i'm in high school now, yeah when i was in middle school, i was learning things i never knew before, gross stuff, but im in high school now, and its like im so used to it, it doesnt bother me, which isnt good. i think kids in middle school talk that way to be cool, because middle school is all about making friends and bein popular, i hated middle school b/c of that reason. but high school is way better, the pressure isnt as strong, i can just be my self. tell your son that the stuff him and his friends talk about is actually disgusting and unattractive, i would never want to be friends with those kinda guys, they annoy me. well good luck.
I don't think it's such a recent phenomenon. Six and a half years ago when I was in high school some elementary school kid yelled out at me that my breasts were fake. I was shocked but I guess if kids have bad role models or associate with other kids that have bad role models that will happen. Good luck.
i'm glad you are trying to control your son in this area. today we are in a bad place. so many parents have to work just to get the bills paid, teachers and other people are not allowed to discipline the kids anymore. sex is being taught in schools. i still think it would be better being taught by the parents to their own children.
perhaps you and your family can spend time with your son so he feels like a part of the family. you can always change the direction he is headed in. hope this helps.
u need to sit down wit ur son an talk to him an tell him whats good from bad - appropriate from inappropraite an wats acceptable to talk about lay out the bounderies an make it known that there will be consquenses for the inappropriate talking - be straight up wit him - ok ? ok
middle schoolers are inappropriate for two reasons
1. tv- mtv, bet, vh1, and just plain old nickelodeon. really! nowadays, they have tv shows where 11 year olds are getting their first kiss. this is probably where the sex jokes come from.
2. they are immature- they see all the high schoolers do it. you know the saying, "boys will be boys"? IT"S TRUE! boys are just more immature than girls. that's why the varisity football team AND the 5 year olds playing pop warner can both laugh at a fart joke.
when your son left elementar school, he probably felt like a king. now, he had the right to switch classes, eat lunch, and be with his friends. he's probably just trying to grow up faster than he should. remember, he's stuck in a sort of limbo- he's left the baby school, but he's not quite with the big kids.
how do you stop your child from repeating the jokes?? YOU CANT. your the parent and he's the child. he thinks he's big enough to say what he feels is funny- whether you like it or not.
REST ASSURED- HE WILL GROW OUT OF IT. he'll find something better to do. it'll just take time for him to realize how strange he's acting.

It's good that he feels comfortable enough with you to share those things even though they are inappropriate. I've taught for 18 years and teens have always been this way - even when I was in school. You can get him to stop talking about that kind of stuff around you, but it's not likely he'll stop listening to it if it's all around him. Just let him know he needs to be as mature as possible and that it could land him in trouble at school.
Because they have parents that try to take 8 year olds to jail to book them and not deal with an underlying issue =
These days? It was the same when I was in Middle school in the late 1970's.
We enjoy that stuff we just want parents to just leave us alone i mean it sucks be cause parents are always anoying and they we just want you guys to leave us alone
Parents don't bring there kid up right these day. I am only 16 but i have morals because my parents taught me to respect people and they told me what was right or wrong. When i have a kid i am gonna teach them morals. I am sorry but if you don't disiplin him he will walk all over you and it is okay to ground your kids and then explain why and make sure they understand not to ever to it again or grounding will be the consequence. Trust me they will stop.I have a sister and i tell her that anything she does to me ill do it back. Like it she bites me i'll bite her and if she doesn't like it done to her she won't do it to anyone else.Ever again.
They think they rock 'cause they're about to be in jr. high. But sometimes fifth graders happen to be that way but not me 'cause ima fifth grader.

I don't understand our society these days either. I know you didn't teach that stuff to your kid, and there is no way of stopping that stuff being taught to your child other than by putting him in home school. Even if you were to put him in private school it wouldn't help. They are still the same way. But the best solution is to teach your child that it is not appropriate for HIM to walk around talking and acting like that; just because other people's children do it, doesn't mean he should. Explain to him to be a leader and not a follower.
To me, the parent's are to blame for alot of the reason why children talk and act these days, but dont get me wrong kids are still at blame too. Once you teach your child right from wrong, he should keep that practice up, but it is up to us as parents to keep reinforcing it!
