Do you think the DOLL Baby Alive is appropriate for a girl that is 7, almost 8?

I think it's very appropriate actually. More than normal. Children like comfort, and if this doll is what will confort her, than why not? In fact, I have a 11 year old cousin who still plays with baby dolls, and she hugs them and swaddles them. So yeah, it's perfectly normal, don't be concerned. Also, she herself might not like them, maybe her friends at school are influencing her. Try talking to her about it. :)

Yes, what a wonderful gift! It helps little girls dream of and practice being mommies some day! Dolls are still a wholesome good old-fashioned toy.
I have an 8 year old and I think that doll is really made for younger girls. She most likely won't touch it within a year.
I think our girls are being forced to grow up too fast. Give her the doll and let her be a kid.
Baby Alive first came out when I was a young child. It was a wonderful toy that offered the ability to learn more about caring for a baby. The doll comes with a bowl/plate, spoon, and food mixes. The powdered mixes are blended with water in the bowl, and "fed" to the baby. A while later, via the tube installed in the doll, the food comes out in the diaper.
A couple of tips.
1-Make sure the food is watery enough to get through the tube, they are a little thicker than a pencil.
2-Be sure to "feed" the baby some water from it's bottle after each "solid" feeding, otherwise, the food mix may dry inside the tube and clog up. Then it has to sort of be snaked out.
3-Make sure that the baby has a diaper on at the beginning of the feeding, it doesn't take long for the food to make it's passage through the tube, and the water goes through instantaneously.

I think so, at 7 and 8 I still played with dolls it's a really cute doll to I want to get one for my daughter too she's alot younger then your daughter but she's very advanced for her age and really liked it when she seen it in the store,the only thing is it's kind of expensive for a doll i seen it in the store and it was 50 dollars I dont mind spending the money on it I just hope my daughter plays with it more then once!! lol
I can't believe they still make baby alive. I had one when they first came out back in the 70's. I loved it. I think I was about the age of your daughter. Just don't let her feed it anything but the thin food that comes with it. I fed mine oatmeal, then put her in the closet for a few weeks. It pretty much ruined her!
It's a cool doll but make sure you wanna spend a crap load of money on diapers. My friends daughter has one and all they give you with it is two diapers that you throw away after it goes to the bathroom. My friend has to buy real baby diapers and there not cheap. Plus the doll got annoying real fast for my friends kid. she still likes it but it drives her nuts most of the time. You could just have another kid would make buying the diapers worth it. My daughter wants one but theres no way in H**l i'm buying one. to much drama for a 6 year old. Hope your daughter can handle it. no offence.
Of course she's a little girl.
