Does anyone have a child on medatate for ADD...any way to get it cheaper?
Answer:
Cant you get help through medicaid in your state? Also a child with ADHD is considered disabled in my state and you could recieve social security to help w/costs I would look into that. Have you tried genirics?
Mexico or Canada?
I dont know where you are from but in Michigan they just did a report on Sams Club and Costco and the price difference on drugs (from a 'regular pharmacy to theirs) was phenomenal. SO I would check with the warehouse clubs where you live. They also said that the people who use the pharmacy only didnt need to purchase the membership. Hope this helps.
There is a better way of dealing with ADD.
It is called nutrition therapy.
Give him foods that are only fresh, no chemicals, no processed foods, no sugar, no white flour. No drinks that contain chemicals. That is ALL soft drinks and sports drinks.
Put the child on a exercise regime.
You will find that he will not need any medicines.
ADD ADHD started after we started feeding our children foods and drinks that were bad for them.
What a concept. Eating healthy. Being healthy. hmmmmm.
My son has ADHD, is 12 and on medadate it does indeed work wonders. He went from nearly failing 5th grade to being on the honor roll in 6th and now 7th grade. Our insurance covers it in full. Where are you from? We are in NY , there are many insurances to help.
My son has ADHD, and if it weren't for the state run program (Florida) Healthy Kids, we would never be able to afford his meds. Check with your state government to see if you can qualify for a government supported health insurance policy.
My son is on metadate but fortunatly our insurance covers all of it but $3. My sister went to some of the area clinics where she lived to get medicines for my neice. They base it on your income and what you can afford to pay. For a $200 script she paid like $43. You can also call the doctor and explain to them and they can get you in touch with organizations that help with children who are un-insured. I really feel sorry for you and it is awful that so many Americans are having to do without other things in order to buy medicines which they need maybe someday that will change.
I have a son with ADHD also. I found that you can go to the manufactures website and see what programs they have available. There are some that will give it to you for a reduced price or even free if you qualify. We use Concerta. Try to look it up on the Internet and see if you can get help this way. I wish you the best of luck! I know how hard it is to get state insurance to help. :)
