Bedtime for a child?
Answer:
Maybe in bed by 8:30 - lights out at 9? I think it's GREAT you want to ensure your child is getting enough rest. WAY too many parents have their kids involved in so many activities that the children aren't getting enough sleep (not getting enough sleep is an epidemic in our nation). My son (who is 12) told me just last night that 2 kids fell asleep in his math class this week - his teacher is not boring (actually, he's rather funny), so apparently the kids just aren't getting enough rest. Sad.
Keep up the good work!
For a 10 year old I think 8:30pm is a reasonable time seeing as she gets up early.
Does she have a favorite TV show that comes on @ 8:00? if so make a deal that she can watch that show and then hit the hay.
At ten.I think that you could probably extend her bedtime to 9pm. Its a good way to let her feel a bit more grownup as shes probably at the age where she goes to school and compares what time other kids go to bed and of course they all say 11, or midnight lol. But giving her half an hour can stop the arguments and hopefully have a compromise. You could always agree to a trial run where you can see how well she adapts and wakes up in the morning, if she manages to wake up on time and do everything without being tired then allow it as her new bedtime. Learning to compromise with your child at a young age and respect her newly forming opinions is a good start to being able to keep her on the right track when the argument turns into curfews or boyfriends. Good luck.
I have 3 children 10 ,14 and 20 and I think for a 10 year old, 9 is a good time.I think he or she should start getting ready for bed around 8:30 you know making sure they have a snack brush teeth and get stuff ready for school it has worked for me.Good Luck
I think 8:30 is a great bed time.
10 year old child is always curious to know something which he/she doesn't know. You should change the bed time 10-00 pm and let her up at 6-30 am for school. In my opinion 7 to 9 hours sleep is enough for a child of 10 years especially when schooling.Don't sent her to bed soon as she finish her dinner, after dinner let her talk to you or with his dad;share the family values or if she had some questions which as a parents you can answers.Don't crush her curiosity.
I think 8:30 is early for a 10 year old. That is what time my 3, 4, and 6 year old goes to bed and they get up at that time. My sister is 11 and goes to bed at about 9 or 9:30 on school nights and gets up at 6:30.
Let her sleep at 9. If she starts getting bad grades, make it 15 minutes earlier. Don't make a 10 year old sleep so early. Nobody sleeps at that time.
i think she need a bed time on school nights so that she can be rested for school but on weekends let her stay woke how long she wan
that time perfect! she has to get up pretty early, so 8:30 is really a good time for her to go to sleep. I have a daughter that is almost 8 and she goes to bed at the same time. She wakes up around 7 in the morn.
My 10 year old son goes to bed at 9pm and gets up at 7am (equals the same amount of time as your 10 year old). I think 8:30-9:00 is good. It also depends on the morning schedule too. If they have to get up earlier then they could go to be earlier. Also depends on how well the child gets up. All situations are different. Sit down and talk to your 10 year old and ask him/her what time they think is a good time to go to bed and get up. Then try to compromise maybe. Also, as they get older the get to stay up later. Good luck. Sam
yes she needs to go to sleep at 8:30 on school nights
For a 10 year old I would say anywhere between 8:30 and 9:00
ok i am 11 and when i was 10 i never ever went to bed that early but i think it is a little on the early side i went to bed at 11:30ish but i know that is too late so i would say like 9ish maybe. but when i went to bed at 11:30ish(which i still do) i get A's and B's so it doesn't affect my grades too much. So i would try 9ish and if it starts affecting her grades then i would take it down to 8:30ish again so... sorry kiddie i don't think you should be up too late and well i don't set the best example of that buhbye!
i think 8:30 is a good time that what time i went to bed at that age
