Is the word nipple considered a bad word?
Answer:
OMG, I would be in that school office and FREAK on that teacher. Is that teacher so insecure about body parts. Nipple is no worse than neck or knee! Oh yeah, your son should NOT be suspended...plus he's only 8!
Stand up for your son, or they will always walk on him! make sure they know you are one woman NOT to triffle with!.
It's not a bad word, but it's not something an 8 yr. old should be saying. You might not mind if he says it, but other parents might not appreciate their 8 yr. olds learning the word nipple.
The teacher did not act appropriately in my opinion. Nipple is not a bad word at all and is just as appropriate as let's say, groin.
Nipple is not a bad word in and of itself. It depends on how it is used. Usually, when the word nipple is used in the context of a joke, some people may become offended. It sounded like the teacher mistook your son for saying something raunchy. It doesn't sound like he meant any harm by it. Just tell him that it's okay but that he should err on the side of tact the next time he decides to say something funny.
Basically, your son did something harmless, but it sounds like the teacher is just a dried up old prude who hasn't gotten laid in at least 30 years ;o)
Well... well...If you ask me i done my own research,89 % of males between the ages of 5-and up.There mind is sexually active.causing them to daydream about the opposite sex.And they communicate with other males about it.
Its not a bad word...hes learning...the physical aspects of the body, just explain to him the basic body parts and how anatomy of a women and a man is beautiful. He is at that age where anything seems alright to say, thats why you as his mother is their to teach him and show him so he can become an even better person. god bless.
Nipple is not a bad word unless someone uses it with a vulgar innuendo.
its not a bad word but its not appropriate to use in school To suspend the child is ridiculous!
No, it's not a bad word. I would be all over that principal. Saying nipple is no worse than naming any other body part. He used the proper term, nothing vulgar. Suspension is ludicrous.
Is there a list of "bad words" at the school cause that's just STUPID!! Everyone has nipples and he didn't use it in a sexual context. I'd be all over that school. Are the kids explicitly told at the beginning of their school life that nipples is one of the words that will get them suspended?? I'd have the flaming behind!
Go romp yourself some teacher's butt and make sure you get the principal too while you're at it.
In that context, the use was completely appropriate. The response was completely unreasonable.
this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Your son was just playing and I think this is what is wrong with the US in general: people over analyze everything. A nipple is a nipple there is nothing wrong or grotesque about it...
you should explain to your son that there is nothing he did wrong it's the people who react to this that are wrong... I would take him out for pizza and a movie when the other kids go on their field trip and have a great mom and son day!
I am outraged that the word "nipple" was used in such a callous manner. I, for one, am a person who believes that "the punishment should fit the crime."
In this instance, I think your son's punishment was not as harsh as it should have been. If I were to have my say, I would have banned your son from school for the entire school year and sent him to prison for at least the next 15 years.
It's high time we clean up this smut-ridden culture, and we have to start somewhere. I think we should start with your son.
Next week I will be organizing a march on Washington. I hope to get the ACLU, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, the National Organization for Women, the Daughters of the American Revolution and PETA on board.
We will take to the streets and DEMAND that your son be more harshly punished for committing what I can only describe as "The Crime of the Century!"
NO JUSTICE. NO PEACE!!

PS... Seriously, whoever sentenced your son to a 1 day suspension for saying the word "nipple" needs to be FIRED!
no it shouldnt be.there as kids out there younger than that swearing and stuff.nipples..not a bad word...but maybe shouldnt be used outside of the house.
in a word.,,,, NO
I WOULD EXPOSE THE SITUATION TO THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, THIS PUNISHMENT IS WAY OUT OF PROPORTION, NIPPLE IS NOT A BAD WORD AND IT WAS APPLIED IN A NON-INSULTING WAY ANYWAYS, DEMAND A APOLOGY FROM THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION AND PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
nipple isnt a bad word! dem teachers be triiipppiiiiiiinn!!
That is ridiculous. Nipple is not a bad word, but part of the body. The punishment seems uncalled for, suspension? That is crazy.
What is the world coming to? That's ridiculous.
