5 year old 400lbs?!?!?!?

Saw this on tv lastnight...so sad...shouldnt it be considered child abuse to let your child get so big?

Answer:
yes, you would think the parents would realize that their child was out of control a long time ago, but if they cant see that and get help i dont think that they are fit to be parents.
letting them get that over weight can cause health problems. in some respects can be worse than beating them.
if they don't have a medical condition that causes it.
I would say neglect more so than abuse. What are the parents feeding this poor child?!
its all in the genes my good boy!!
Yes! That is awful! The parents should have put a stop to it the second that kid hit 50 pounds! My 10 year old nephew only weighs 75 pounds right now.
Not if it's a medical condition and it almost has to be!
I agree, it should be considered child abuse.
Geese... 5 years old 400lb.. is that even possible!?
Sounds impossible.
Yes, its neglect on the parents end. The child does not feed herself.
It is abuse - the child should be taken away from his parents and not returned until the parents have had counseling.
That poor child!! Yes, that should be considered child abuse! That is just sick to let your kid become that unhealthy!! That kid should be taken away and they should NEVER be allowed to have another one!
definatly!!!!!!!... I feel soo bad 4 the kid, i mean he will not have a anormal life
YES YES AND YES. THE CHILD AND PARENTS NEED HELP.
Some people are charged with neglect for allowing their children to get overweight. For some kids it a medical condition or medical related. Yes people should be charged if its their fault.
Heck ya. What type of mother would allow her child to be unhealthy.
I mean i've been a few pounds over weight but never 400lbs.
WHAT!?! Sounds like a whale.
I saw the 4 year old that was 150, but his mother was VERY big, so i just think it runs in the family.
i think it is because parents know that the child getting this big is going to be very unhappy when they get older.
I think that's going to be on Dr. Phil one of these days.

I think that definitely falls under abuse.

Unless the child has Prader-Willi syndrome, I can't see any other reason for a child so young to have gotten so big.
i seen the same thing! the little girl. yeah they are gonna have it on tonight too. she asks if they have popcorn! lol! yeah that poor girl. but her parents are all to blame. you can control what your children eat by simply not allowing them not to eat you out of house and home. or the house! but yeah i agree it should be child abuse. that girl is not gonna have a long life. and will end up having surgery. and her social life is down the toilet. her parents need help.
yes i agree , poor kids
Yes it should be, I heard of a mother trying to make her child eat just to be on one of these talk shows.
Yep sure should be. Some parents say that their kids throws tantrums if they don't give them food...I say, "So what!" At age 4 the parents give the child food and cook for them so they are in total control over their kid's obesity. That is obsurd!
Yes that is child abuse or more like neglect
I dont know what news station you were watching but I cant believe that would happen. I dont think it can physically happen cause most 5 year olds are only around like 4'7 at the very tops. The kid would explode or have some kinds of diseases.
If there is no medical reason for it then the parents should be charged with child abuse and have there son taken away so he has a chance to lose the weight and have a healthy happy life
I am only 30 pounds overweight and feel miserable. Can you imagine how hard it is for this 5 year old to move about and sleep? It's abuse not to find him some help.
I think its abuse, that poor child. They need to find her some help.
YES IT'S CHILD ABUSE. SOME PEOPLE JUST SHOULDN'T HAVE KIDS!
i saw that! on dr. phil i think it is child abuse when you do that. it harms the child so much. parents say oh i cant stop him/her i have to bribe her with food but no you dont parents. you can ground them spank them etc. it was so sad that shouldnt happen parents should learn how to parent
