Answer:
My daughter seems to be going through a growth spurt similar to yours. Like you, I try to provide healthy meals and snacks and encourage her to be active - dance lessons, playing outside, etc. However since her father and I are both very tall and she's always been at the high end of the size charts, I know she'll be a tall person and I'm hoping the weight will even out as she grows in height. You didn't mention your daughter's height and your family history. Take those into consideration. Is she active? If not, get her out riding bikes or going on walks with you or see if she's interested in activity classes such as youth soccer, basketball, volleyball, dance, etc.

The most important thing, especially with girls, is to approach it carefully with her. You don't want her to get discouraged with her looks and develop an eating disorder. Consult with your pediatrician and discuss it privately with him/her where your daughter can't hear. Best wishes.
She might have a horomone imbalance. You should schedule a doctor's apointment immediately and then keep a food diary with every single thing she eats being recorded until the apointment so the doctor can see that it's not food. Odds are she would make you do a food diary anyway. Make sure you don't forget what she drinks and amounts of everything.
maybe u should go c ur dr and he can suggest some sort of exercise or diet or something.
Does she snack after school? Tell her NO MORE SODA!

My brother lost weight by giving up soda.
take her to the doctor to see a nutritionist. maybe she has as under active thyroid where it takes her body to long to digest food & it becomes fat. what ever you decide to do to it fast because all that weight on such a young child isnt healthy & imagine what she'll go through in school. good luck with everything
Take her to a doctor and have a full medical done. Could be thyroid, diabetes...
I was a chubby baby 8 pounds at birth, I was a fat 8 year old and weighed 150 at 15 and only 4'11. My parents let me eat whatever I wanted. They were not worried about exercise or working out and as a result I struggle with my weight. My advice is to make her eat more vegetables, less butter or sour cream. Walk with her and use activities which require going out and walking to places as mom and daughter time. I know from my experience that bike riding and walking will burn any "fat" while allowing you to stay healthy. Now, Motivation is up to you:) good luck...
I think you should take her to the drs to get checked out it could be she has a medical condition causing weight gain eg hypothyroidism.
Take her to the doctor for a blood work-up to make sure that she is no diabetic or have some kind of Thyroid disorder. You need to find out what is causing this. Also, does she get proper exercise? Kids need at least an hour of physical activity a day. Maybe go out for walks as a family after dinner, join the YMCA and take her swimming, etc. My mom hardly ever had junk food in the house or bought fast food either, but 3 out of 4 of us kids ended up overweight because of the lack of activity.
it may be she is not excersing. the body is made to walk, the best and easy way to lose weight is to walk. if that does not help a physical may be needed, some time the thyroid causes weight gain ask her pediatrician to check with a simple blood test. i hope this help good luck.

Solution:

Stay away from these or frequent consumption of the following.

1 White Bread***, replace with wheat...and limit your intake

2. Soda pop***, coke or Pepsi etc (Any carbonated, sugar beverage) Limit too only 1 a day or skip on selected days..
Both these products bloat the body and transduced into fat.

Crystal lite and Koo-laid have products That are sugar free and can be added to bottled water, tea and coffee are also good substitutes, along with HOH (water) Remember a gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs, and too much water retention in your body will also pack on the weight.

3. Limit your sugar intake

4. The hardest to do, reduce you eating portions

5. Exercise that you like to do with no schedule that controls you. Make up your own

6. Limit your snacks cooked in trans fat (fries, fast food and cookies and chips)

Hungry?

Try a cup of nice hot tea with a little bit of sugar and cream.

your daughter may have either a hormorne imbalance or a thyroid problem. her thyroid may be sluggish which doesn't let her matabolism do its job correctly. you should go to your doctor and get her tested for a thyroid problem as soo as possible. good luck
Maybe she has a thyroid problem. I'd take her to the doctors and get some tests done. If everything comes back find I'd investigate to see if she's doing excessive junk food eating while at school or drinking a lot of pop. 120lbs for an 8 year old is unreal!! I'm 29 and 120 lbs. I'd get this looked at and quick before she ends up obese.
Two yrs ago I gain 23 lbs in 7wks with no changes in my diet. I also notice some hairloss. I asked my doctor about it and it was, as one other person mentioned, a hormone imbalance. My thyroid was under-active (hypothyroidism). Medicine has controlled the weight gain and hair loss. However there may be other factors, like diabetes that could cause weight gain. I would simple inform her doctor as soon as you can and let them know what is going on. Good luck , I wish you all well.
