6 year old with only 2 sets of molars?

My 6 year old only has two sets of molars. His twin sister has all three sets. I ask because his first cousin is completely missing her first 2 sets of molars and she is 3.5

Answer:
at 6 years old, he should have been to the dentist many times in his life. the set of molars that your son is waiting on are 6-year molars, so he is fine. the last set come in around 10-12 years.

here's a very short article about it, with a tooth shedule.

as far as his cousin being 3.5 with no molars, that is incredibly uncommon. almost all toddlers have both first sets of molars around age 2-3. give your dentist a call if you are worried!
Little boys develop more slowly than little girls and this includes eruption of teeth. It is not unusual to see this at all. He'll catch up, but chances are you will see this pattern their entire childhood. I don't know about the cousin...I am not quite sure what you mean, so on that I have no comment. By this age, they should be seeing a dentist regulary, so I would ask the dentist as well. If there is a concern, he/she will investigate more.
Don't stress! Kids develop at different stages and just because his twin has them all doest mean the he will. If he doesn't develop anymore by the age of 7-8 take him to a dentist
If it is any consolation to You I did not loose My milk teeth until I was twenty-two. You should have seen the look on the Dentist's face. She thought that She had broken it.
I've always been under the impression there are two-year molars and six-year molars, which would make your son right on schedule if that's the case.

There is a huge range of ages for teeth, though, so either way I wouldn't worry about any child who has more or fewer teeth than is generally expected. My daughter didn't get teeth at all until she was within a week of her first birthday. People in my family have no signs of wisdom teeth until late twenties or even mid-thirties!
Some people are, I guess, just "late-teeth-bloomers".
teeth come at all different times. I have twins. One has had all his 6 year old molars and has for 18 months. His twin sister is just now (almost 8) cut the last 6 year old molar. Don't worry, it will come
And now I have to figure out many I have.
They start getting other molars at age six, they are called the six year molars, my son Just turned seven and his secound set of molars did not start coming in until a month ago. Your son is right on target, your daughter a bit ahead, but it is all good don't worry they will come. But if you are concerned just ask the dentist the next time you are in.
every1s teech r different im 13 and my last set is comming in now
