Any Aussie mums who have a child starting their first day at school tomorrow?
My son starts tomorrow and it just doesn't seem real.
Answer:
well its my daughters first day today. I took her in and got her settled in and sat next to her while she was doing a puzzle waiting for the teacher to start and she turned to me and said "you can go now mum". I felt great that she was happy to be there, that she wasn't upset. But once I got home it hit me, I'm rather sad about it all. Gee I miss her! It's so quiet without her here.
My son returns to school tomorrow, so I've been where you are. It doesn't seem real, and you may not even be upset when you leave him there, which is perfectly normal, you'll probably feel it all hit you when you get home and the house is so quiet and you find you have "nothing" to do!
No my kids are grown up but I was wondering about all you mums with kiddies off to school tomorrow!
I hope your child likes it & its not upsetting for you If your child is good you should be fine
my boy never ever really liked school & when he was young it was sad for me because he used to cry a bit at home but i did encourage him to do that at home because he was sad & i would say why dont you have a little cry before we go to school & the dear little pet did that for a few days & its still sad now i'm talking of it lol
my Daughter was so different wanting me to leave her at the school gate & that was the second day lol
good luck tomorrow to you & your child
Mine go Wednesday but it is into Grade 2. It seems only yesterday it was Prep. I did okay that morning. I dropped them off. Then asked after a few minutes are they okay if I go. They looked at me like "what? Your still here". I was still okay till about lunchtime when it all hit me. I couldn't wait to get back. It is just the beginning. I have worried everyday they have gone to school. Who are they playing with? Are they being bullied? (this one was answered in the holidays And it was Yes sadly) At the same time it is so exciting to see how quickly they learn and how much fun they have. A great teacher makes the year fantastic.
I wish you lot's of luck. Take the camera. A great idea is first and last day every year get a photo in front of the school sign. They are great as you see them grow and mature year by year. And may it be the beginning of a wonderful journey for your son (and you)
I remember the first day of my daughters school day.Now tomorrow will be the first day of the finaldays at primary school.Make the most of it. Time flies. I am sure he will be fine.
Whoa why are they starting school in January...shouldnt they have started in like august or september?
