100 Days of school?

My little girl is in kindergarten.
Her teacher want she bring 100 items to expose in a 100 "museum". She need to speak about the own collection (like a show and tell).
My child doesn't want bring any beans (she think is boring talk about beans), her dinosaurs or dolls are too big. What can she bring? Can be something homecraft, but need to be ready for Jan 24.

Answer:
OK get a wooden bird house med. size then get a bag of beads! hot glue gun 100 beads on-to the house!! Or you can get a small box and get 100 fake jewels and put them in the box then paint the box a gold or silver! Hope this Helps!!

The bird house takes about 2-5 hours and the treasure box takes about 20 min. prep time and a nother 20 to paint and put the jems in the box!

PS let her make up a story about a little bird who found a cozy place to stay.. But if you do the treasure box the let her make up a story on how her and her friends found the lost treasure!!
I teach kindergarten and I do this project every year. Children in the past have brought in hair bows, pencils, earrings, pennies, straws, colored noodles, cereal pieces, buttons, pictures and more. I hope this gives you some indication of what your daughter can bring in for the 100th day of school.
Either 100 dollars or 100 paper cranes made out of 100 $100 dollar bills.
My daughter made a big "100" on a piece of cardboard out of 100 Cheerios once. You could use Froot Loops or any other small snacks. Another year, she counted out 100 pennies and told everyone that it was equal to $1 - kind of reinforcing the money concept and all.
my kids took 100 coins and talked about how coins have different values and the shiny ones are worth more. they also spoke about how they liked to spend them and how the 100 coins will go to their teacher to buy them all a special snack.
i remember i did this in 1st grade u could do pennies, of if u could find 100 corks, something like that
I once saw a 100 day project of a child's favorite cereal. He glued 10 pieces to 10 plastic spoons and glued all the spoons on to a large paper bowl. I thought it was very cute!
penny's! Take 100 penny put them through out the house and let her find them and count them. Then she can go to school and tell her class mates how she collected her pennies. We did the 100th day last year my son had a blast they had so many activities for them to do.
As a retired teacher, I would think the items are supposed to be small. Help your child brain storm what her favorite 5-10 small items are, like barrettes, rings, hairbands, etc. Look around the house, what does she have that is small and inexpensive but she likes them Use your creativity, it could be 100 photos :)
Please, what ever you do, don't do this FOR your daughter. I do this every year with my class and every year there are several "Super Parents" who create elaborate projects for their children. The kids have no part in creating it and have nothing to show their pride in. Guide her to find small things at home that you have 100 of. Cereal pieces, ribbons, legos, photos, buttons, hershey kisses etc... Once she has 100 things, work together to make a nice display, but make sure that she has a part in the creativity.
yes my sons school is doing the same thing... nothing dangerous or breakable. my son is taking colorful straws.
Write out 100 on 100 pieces of paper. It's easy, it's cheap, and it's semi-creative.
My daughter's class had 100th day last week. They had to make something out of 100 of the same item.

pennies
marshmallows - one boy made a cool igloo out of it
chocolate kisses
M&M's
pipe cleaner flowers
Lifesavers
rocks
Teddy Grahams
Goldfish crackers
stickers
pieces of popcorn
gummy worms
balloons (not blown up of course!)
chocolate chips
beads
ribbons
jelly beans
pieces of cereal
straws
popsicle sticks (you can buy "craft sticks" at the store)
My children have done these projects as well. We have done pennies made into an intersting pattern and also my daughter made a fruit loops necklace with 100 cereal pieces which all the girls loved and wanted to make. Also, I have seen beeds glued onto a paper in interesting designs.
How about finding somewhere where there are lots a little rocks or pebbles.

She could find 100 and talk about the location she found them.
I'm a teacher and the most liked 100 items that are brought in are......food! What about gummi bears. She could talk about how many red, green, etc are in the collection. Or she could have gummis of different kinds and talk about how many worms, bears, etc. are in her collection. Then have her pass them out for the kids to eat.
My Daughter did this in Kindergarten - I agree with another poster - let your child complete the project so she can feel a sense of pride for completing it. We went to the craft store and bought a cheap wicker hat. She then selected what she wanted to glue on it... with much thought, she choose to glue Tootsie rolls on it - 100 of them! I had to get out my glue gun to keep them on - I put a dot of glue on the hat and she stuck them on one by one (I had her were plastic dish gloves so she wouldn't get burned!) The hat is still in her closet 3 years later! I just can't throw it away!
I remember when my son did this for school. He has adhd and just couldnt decide what to take so he came up with all of us(mom, dad, sister, brother and himself) pick one thing out of the cabinet(popcorn,m&m's, nuts, choclatechips and marsmellows are I think what we choose) and he counted out 100 of each and put them in baggies and took a big bowl w/ him to school. He talked about what we choose and why and then mixed them all together for a treat for his class.the bowl was empty when he came home and he really took pride in what he did!!
My son and I are building a creation out of 100 elbow macaroni noodles. Then he's going to paint it and bring it to school.
