Does Burping a newborn help them with hiccups?? If not what are some hiccup remedies??
Answer:
something my mother in law suggested was to gently press your thumb just between baby's eyebrows. it sounds weird but it does work! don't know how or why.
Does burping help you with hiccups? No? Well, there you go.
Hiccups, I don't think there's anything that can help them with it as such, even adults just suggest stuff like hold your breath or something. Just let them go through it. I'm pretty sure there's no danger in it, but always keep track of their breathing obviously.
Gripe Water!!
i found the best thing for my sons hiccups was to put him back on the breast and give him a drink.
As a mum of a littley (10 months) who gets loads of hiccups - liquid or time. I've tried everything and they are the only 2 things I've found that have worked for me. I've been able to figure out what causes them though. When he's laughing or talking (cooing actually), he'll swallow air and then they will come shortly after. A drink of milk or water should do it or they just pass within about 10 minutes.
My daughter has gotten hiccups since day one. We realized that when we pulled her leggs/feet too close to her head we squished her belly and she got hiccups EVERY time. (like when you change a baby's diaper.
The only cure was nursing/drinking and time. Don't scare or startle an infant!
