How long can you live without sleep?
Answer:
personally, about half an hour
zzzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzzz
no idea
I think there have been people that stayed awake for about a week, but then their bodies shut down and FORCE them to fall asleep whether they like it or not!
Untill you pass out.
Never thought about it.Well got to try it as my exams are approaching
A pretty long time believe me. I had my baby 9 months ago and I havn't slept since. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
until i die.
YOU DID NOT PUT YOUR QUESTION WELL. MAY BE YOU MEAN "WHAT IS THE DURATION MAN CAN GO WITHOUT SLEEPING?" IF THIS IS WHAT YOU MEAN THEN IS 48 HOURS. BUT IF YOU STILL MAINTAIN YOU QUESTION THEN YOU CAN LIVE AND WILL NOT DIE WITHOUT SLEEPING.
Apparently, with forced sleep deprivation, it averages about a week by which time (as someone pointed out) your mind just closes down and forces you to sleep. Also, its very unhealthy to deprive you body of sleep.
I read once of a woman in America who never slept but this is extremely rare.
One time, my baby was so colicky, that I didn't crawl into bed for four days. I knew I needed help when I forget how to spell my name.
I've always heard that the body shuts down and you just have to sleep. You can't fight it, you can't stop it from happening, your body will make you sleep if it needs it.
But I think, on record the longest time anyone has gone without sleeping is 11 days.
A study done on rats has shown that after being deprived of sleep for 3 weeks, they died. I don't know what that says about humans, but it's interesting to know nevertheless.
me not long
I stayed awake for two and a half days when my baby was born. Felt like if I went to sleep I might miss some thing.
ive been living on 3hrs sleep for the last 18nths coz my son has a sleeping disorder!
I once read it was 10 days.
11 years. I am living proof.
Dunno, but i think i'm gonna find out soon!!
Lol.. A lot longer than you can imagine. My youngest didn't sleep a wink unless i was holding him for the first 9 1/2 months. I've lost count of the hours i spent pushing the pram backwards and forwards, rocking the car seat and bouncing the baby chair only for him to wail the house down.
