Day care question for newborn twins.?
Thanks
Answer:
I went the other route, and got a nanny. I had a really hard time finding one facility that would take on two new babies... besides, how much one on one time would they receive at a facility vs from a nanny in your home? I know in Canada (where I live) we pay the nanny $1000 and pay her taxes on top of that (about $1400 per month). I found it to be the best solution to managing our twins care.
If you have other twin questions, I'd be happy to help.
Good luck to you!
Have you tried the yellow pages in the phone book or even ask around with other people you work with.
the best advice would be call the hospital and nurses for yourself. that way you can better rely on the answer than from just hear say.

most daycare centers wont take babies younger than 6 weeks old. call the red cross for a referral, they train child care providers in CPR etc and might be able to refer you to someone, check the phone book or here in Louisiana & I know if Cali they have a state referral service based on your needs either a day care center or a home care provider, check on that, also ask around at your church or other place like that. best of luck
Legally a daycare cannot take babies under the age of 6 weeks. I've never heard of nurses running a daycare. Most nurses are paid well over 20 dollars an hour and work VERY long hours. I wouldn't think they would need to supplement their income... Personally I think day care is just about the worst thing you could ever do to a child. And I speak from experience as I had my two oldest in daycare for about a year 3 years ago.
