When do I feed my baby cereal?

What was the youngest age anyone has feed there baby ceraral and stage one food? Just curious to know.

Answer:
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends not giving any before 6 months because it can cause digestive problems, and childhood obesity. Go ahead and give me a thumbs down because you gave your 10 week old cereal in the bottle so that you could sleep longer but you aren't giving me a thumbs down you are saying that you know better then the American Academy of Pediatrics.
i think when the baby's 4 months
My mother in law started her kids on all solid food when they were 6 days old! Yikes. She said she would puree stew and soup, you name it. How times have changed. It is recommended nothing for the first 6 months. I started both my babies around 6 months.
I started feeding my daughter rice cereal at 3.5 months. She will be starting jarred stage 1 foods at 4.5 or 5 months.

She really wasn't ready for solids at 3.5 months. I basically fed it to her for "practice." It was safe to give it to her that early because there are no known allergies to rice cereal.

I JUST KNEW I'd get a "thumbs down" for answering your question honestly. Shame on whoever did that.we mothers should NOT be so judgemental towards each other.
well I started my children on cereal at the age of 2 1/2 months the baby foods at 3 months.one at a time fruits first or veggies first
You start with rice cereal around 4 months.
The doctors and the books say no sooner than 4-6 months. Some people feed their babies cereal a few weeks after birth because they think it will help them sleep longer at night, of course it was to benefit the mother not the baby. My son's pediatrician always told me if you feed a baby cereal too young than they can develop diabetes. If your child is 4 months or a little older and he/she seems to not be getting enough just with formula of breast milk then it should be fine to start with cereal otherwise you should wait a little longer.
You can start giving your baby cereal when they have good head control, have doubled thier birth weight, and can move the food around in thier mouths pretty well. I forgot how much formula they should be drinking a day; some doctors say 3 months and some say 4. Call 24 hour nurse line instead of waiting to get astupid appointment with your pediatrician just to ask a question. Mainly, just go with the flow and give your baby what you think he/she needs.
Four months.
I gave my oldest rice cereal at 12 weeks. I was nursing her and she never seemed satisfied,so against the advice of most everybody I gave her a few spoonfuls after she nursed and she seemed more content.
My son has been eating cereal since about 10 weeks...in his bottle mixed with formula. Formula wasn't cutting it (he was constantly hungry), on the advice of his pediatrician. You can start anytime between 3-4 months, with rice cereal, then progress from there. Years ago, babies started on cereal almost at birth, and we all made it just fine!!!!!!
that's quite a conundrum
aroun 6 months. just a little bit though. Buy a cereal that will melt in his/her mouth so she doesnt have to bite that much.
I know people who start at 4 months, but I have always followed AAP guidelines and started at 6 months :)
The earliest you should feed cereal is 4 months, unless your
Ped recommends earlier.
My sister put my niece on cereal at a month, but only a teaspoon or two. I started my kids at 2-3 months. My kids were eating some solids at 6 months. My pediatrician gave me the okay as long as they had no problems!
It's not recommended until around the middle of the first year..around 6 mos. Starting earlier can lead to allergies, diabetes and obesity. They don't have the enzymes needed to digest it earlier than around 6 mos of age.
Whenever formula or breast milk is not filling the infant up.
If the infant still acts hungry after a bottle or being breast fed.It maybe time to introduce baby cereal.
My son asperated (breathed thin liquids into his lungs while eating) so we had to start giving him rice cereal in his breast milk (I had to pump 6-8 times a day) when he was about 2 months old. We had to switch to single grain oatmeal cereal after a week or so because it consipated him. I would not recommend giving babies cereal or food before about 6 mons without a doctors consent. You are better off to be safe than sorry with food allergies.
I started too feed my children cereal around 3 to 4 months.. Some people start earlier by putting a little in the babies formula. My girlfriend puts cereal in her daughters formula and the baby is only 2mth's.
Here is a guide for when to feed your child and what?
