Why does my 5 month old have rosey cheeks?
Answer:
probably more likely to be the cold weather, my baby had very rosey cheeks back in winter (i am in australia it is summer now) and the clinic nurse said it was wind burn, she also said it is nothing to worry about, you can use a mild cream, like nappy rash cream or sorbolene to keep it moisturised. as the weather got warmer, they disappeared (I was a bit disappointed as she looked so cute! lol) and she never had it when she was teething.
Because he has sensitive skin.
I just took my 4 month old to the Doctor and he commented about his sensitive skin because of the rosy cheeks. Its nothing to worry about unless they become chapped, dry or cracking.
its kinda of good isn't it
is he eyeing the toddler next door lol.
could grow up to be a playboy lol
Sometimes its because they were out in the cold, almost like a windburn..that sort of thing..put some lotion on it, and if that isnt working ask your peditrician about it...there are other things that can cause it.
Naturally it got the newborn skin soft and gentle...
Most likely he is teething, with it will most likely come drooling, chewing everything, maybe a low grade fever and diaper rash, and irritable, maybe I slight loss of appetite, this is what I would think anyways unless you have him outside alot.
My baby girl is a little over 5 months. She began getting really red cheeks aroud Christmas time. They were very hot to the touch as well. I was very concerned and went to the Doctors. She said that she was most likely teething. Low and behold about a week later she cut her first tooth. Some other signs: Chewing more on toys, blankets, bottle nipple- maybe a little temp. too. I got baby oragel and it seems to do the trick. I also got some teethers. The only problem with the teethers is that she isnt old enough to steadily hold them on her own. Anyways, thats my guess. My babys cheeks are STILL red- going on a few weeks now but the dr. said last week that they continue to hurt as they come all the way up...
A mothers instinct when it is cold out is to completely cover there baby from top to toe in clothes so they don't feel cold. I take think maybe you have put too many layers on him. I have been guilty of this myself. When I notice the rosy cheeks I realise and take something off him
Very well could be. My daughter was the same way, she was that age her first winter. She's like that right now, with the way the weather has been, and she's 2 1/2 yrs. I rub on a bit of Vaseline before bedtime, and it works very well.
