What will happen if sugar and salt are being added to baby's first meals?
Answer:
The best way to find out is to ask your pediatrician.
Anyway, the added sugar can contribute greatly to childhood obesity. That's why doctors recommend that you let your children drink more water and milk as opposed to juice, because even the natural sugars can lead to obesity. Halving your child's juice with water helps.
As to the sodium ... well, there are different reasons. One, they can't taste it. Not much, anyway. They will lose their sensitivity to natural food tastes. Salt can also contribute to unhealthy weight gain.
Hope this helped.
PS--you can add sugar when the child becomes able to feed him or herself cereal like cheerios. Salt will probably be when he or she is eating table foods. My stepson is over 2.5, and we don't add sugar or salt to anything he eats--if he gets some of our food, then he eats whatever we added to our food.
It will give them cavities even if they dont have teeth they will come out with cavities
