Can you give a 10 month old what we eat?

also she hates lumpy food can i try her with say carrots and potatos ect on her tray for dinne instead of puree to feed her self as she is great with finger food

Answer:
depends on what she has been introduced to. I would still avoid things like eggs, shellfish, dairy, anything with nuts... but other than that? if she is good with finger foods let her play... feeding time is supposed to be a learning time mostly... a time that is not stressful or upsetting to parent or baby. she should play with, feel the various textures and be introduced to as many varieties as possible... one at a time...two times per food.. even if the first time she did not appear to like it. given the first time usually would not give a reaction, but the second time if there is an allergy it would usually show up. if she sees she has the same (or very close to it) as mom and dad? it may encourage her to try it quicker... eat more even..

with the veggies that are hard, like carrots. I would cook them first to soften. and let them cool off... cut them if you are more comfortable... I do not cut mine... they eat baby carrots and take bites.. I am sitting right there and watching.. so, I am comfortable with that.. if I am not going to be literally sitting right next to baby? I keep the choices to small bite sized.

vairety of color, texture, tastes. to keep it fun... and keep her interest might help too... remember, it is not for the calories really or even to "fill her up" at this age yet... as much as for her to get to know different foods... to learn.
have fun! good luck
I think its fine as long as its cut up into small pieces.
consult your doctor....DUH!!
well she is still small so... you can try giving her some little pastas, diced fruit/vegetables, etc. but keep in mind she's chewing with only about 4-6 teeth so keep it simple and easy for her
yes its perfectly fine, as long as you are watching her while she eats the solids because they can easily choke since they have to mash and use their tounge to break food up... but yes i fed both y kids solids and probably earlier than that i think because they were both drinking out of big people cups by ten months so... try the gerber snacks they love those and they are easily broken down.
gerber makes alot of what 'we eat' in child friendly forms. they also fortify it with vitamins and minerals that their bodies need. I wouldn't say no to all of them, mashed potatoes are ok, soup-broth, green beans, , but unless she doesn't have back teeth-molers-to eat with, watch what you give her, she needs to be able to chew up the food properly. right now she just squashes the food with her tongue to the roof of her mouth. so make sure its very soft for her to eat.
You should give a 10 month old what you eat. Sweet potatoes is always good stay away from corn or wieners because of possible chocking. But anything that, that baby will have no problem with say its gums and a few teeth is fine.
Yes. My oldest went from formula to real people food by the time he had his first teeth, my second stayed with formula and baby food for a while. It really just depends on the baby. If baby food doesn't do it for her, our food wouldn't hurt as long as it's cut up small enough for her to eat and not get choked.
You would probably want to cook them and cut them up into bite size pieces, but yes if she has plenty of teeth.
Hi, we cannot give the babies exactly what we take. FISH AND EGGS are food we CANNOT GIVE to a baby like yours. they are most likely to cause overreactions to them. While, KIWIFRUIT, SHELL FOODS PEANUTS/ NUTS AND BIRD'S NEST CANNOT give to babies UNTIL 3 years of age- THEese are highly allergenic.THese are what I learned from my hospital in HK, Where I gave birth of son.
i feed my daughter what we eat she loves it! just no spices or butter :) but eh she gets a lil butter with her potatoes and thats it. just make sure its mashed up and cut into small pieces
You can give a baby soft food as soon as they turn like nine months old so yes you can give a 10 month old food that we eat as long as it is small pieces and its not to hard.
sure just as long as you're watching her and the food is mashed up in little pieces.
