Did you lose weight whilst breastfeeding?

I have read that a lot of women do, how much and did it stay off?

Answer:
Yes - quite a few pounds but most went back on! Can't say how much I lost but I felt good at the time! But it isn't always the case that you lose weight - it is a help though.
I lost 13 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. Last month I started weaning, and I gained 10 pounds of it back. :(

Breastfeeding burns 500 calories a day. It's wonderful. :)
Yes I did, with both kids. I went back to my pre pregnancy weight but as soon as I stopped breast feeding I put weight back on. Same thing happened to my neighbour. The only way to keep it off is to exercise. When I went back to work full time, on my feet all day, I lost heaps. ( my husband was a stay home dad)
Well, I was never one to moniter my weight, so I don't know how much I lost, but I can tell you that with a combination of breastfeeding and walking everywhere, my pre-pregnancy clothes are too big on me now!
i didnt nurse but my sister did she lost alot of wieght and most of it did stay off but think about it this way you had to work to get that weight on so you may have to work to get it off im not saying spend 10 hours at the gym but hey pull out the stroller and go for a waqlk the sunshine will brighten your day make you feel more energised and keep you in shape benifits for baby are that fresh air is good for him/her too and some times the sun shine makes baby feel beter too so yes you do lose weight while breast feeding but its not a sure fire diet for you however it is great for baby so if you can breast feed i say do it it is the best experience you will share with your child and a great way to give baby a head start in life
Yes it fell off me when I breastfed but with my second baby someone told me to take brewers yeast to make more milk but they forgot to say that it is really fattening, I put on weight until I stopped it.
Im still partially breastfeeding my son at 7 months and most of my mummy tummy has gone.I was a size 8 before i had him but im a size 10 now and feel better for it,As long as you eat sensibly and have a lil bit of exercise you should be fine[like walking with the buggy]haha!hope this helps.
40 lbs and still working on it...
I did but that was because I was stressed TRYING to breast feed.
Hi, im breastfeeding my son whos 8 months old and i still have a bit of a belly!

I dont seem to be losing any of my belly fat nor gainning it!( not put any weight on any where else)

I eat abit more than before when i was breastfeeeding.(i always seem hungry)

I do alot walking with the buggy as i dont drive too!

My health visitor told me i should loose some belly fat when i finally stop breastfeeding! we will see!!
Only in the first few weeks but after that I found feeding her made me very hungry and then I put the weight back on.
with my first child i lost a lot of weight while breastfeeding, but thought it would stay off, so ate what i wanted, then at 6weeks she got sick and i had to stop feeding her - then i gained a stack of weight, very quickly and ended up in weight watchers 2 try and slim down again.
i just had another baby 3weeks ago and im breastfeeding him 2.i am smaller than i was before i got pregnant but being careful as i now know it can go on just as quickly as it came off, when you stop feeding
