My daughter is almost 6 months old and I am a stay at home mom. We are also expecting our second child contained by July. I put her in her excersaucer, jumparoo, or on the floor next to toys to play when I need to return with some things done around the house. She is fine for about 5 or 10 minutes but afterwards she just desires to cry her eyes out! It makes me get the impression so bad. Should I basically let her keep hold of crying, for how long or should I go pick her up and play next to her? Everytime I put her down for a nap during the daylight she wants to cry and cry. I let her cry for give or take a few 5 minutes and then turn make sure she have her pacifier. Sometimes she will go right to sleep after that but other times she keep screaming and crying as soon as I walk away. She also individual wants to pinch a 20-30 minute naps when I know she requirements more than that. She sleeps 11-12 hours at night =) I of late want her to be able to hold herself amused. I feel similar to I am doing something wrong? Any advice? Do any of your immature children do the same things?
Answers: Her self-amusement capability are only give or take a few 15 minutes max at 6 months (and that is an average). They basically don't have the attention span. Besides, you are far more interesting and she misses you (5-10 minutes can seem to be like an eternity to her!).
What I do to extend self-play is I discuss to my son from the other room. I ask him how it is going, sing to him, and check on him every few minutes. He sees me, is comforted that I am coming back, and chills longer. However, I still enjoy to switch up his activities every 15-25 minutes (depending on what it is).
He also like hanging out around me. If I am surrounded by my office working, I put him surrounded by his playpen next to me. If I am folding laundry, I bring it within next to his exersaucer. I own a rocker that I can move from room to room as needed if he is feeling remarkably needy.
Hope this help!
awwwwwww you should just do the best you can to comfort her and contained by time hope she grows out of it!
