Do woman still use receiving blankets and undershirts on newborns?

Of course for babies loose a a lot of there heat quickly if they are not bundled up enough.. I always use undershirts or onesys as there called lol... gives your baby that nice comfy second layer.. and for the blanket babies love to be wrapped up swaddled for they feel safe and cozy.. or the one recieving blanket not for wrapping the baby if they burp why not works great for spit up hah..

yes, undershirts or singlets are still used.I think it is traditional, there is no rel reason why they need to be worn.receiving blankets are used for swaddling.the baby has just come from a confined space and is usually more comfortable being swaddled.when the weather is warmer a cotton sheet may be used instead of a blanket.
Yep I used long sleeved undershirts with my sons because they were born in and near winter. The receiving blankets are great for swaddling.

I always did with my son. The blankets end up coming in handy because you can use them as burp cloths because they are so thin. I always put a onesie on under my babys clothes when he was a newborn. Even at bedtime.
I rarely use receiving blankets, but my son is almost always in a onesie.
I didn't use undershirts really. My daughter wore a lot of the Gerber Sleep N Plays. They are like onesies, but are generally thicker and are long sleeved, long pants and with non-skid booties on some. I found it much easier to change her diapers in these as well (than in pants that you have to take off).
My daughter hated being swaddled, so I didn't use the receiving blankets for that, but did use them to keep the sunlight out of her eyes in the car by draping them over her infant car carrier. She will probably use them for dolls later on!

I think onesies is one of the must have item for babies. I use it for my son and it helps keeping his little tummy warm therefore less gassy. Gassy babies can be very cranky even colicky.
