After using breast shield once my baby is not taking my breast in her mouth?please help.?
Answer:
If you only used it once, throw it away NOW. Be patient and keep trying. Your baby won't starve herself. Try getting to her before she's crying for nourishment. As soon as she starts rooting, or flicking her tongue in and out, feed her. The longer you wait, such as waiting until she cries, the more frustrated she'll be, and the harder it will be to get her to latch on. The longer you use it, the harder it will be to get rid of the shield later. They are evil things unless truly necessary, which I don't believe they ever really are.
Keep trying with the shield for a couple weeks. slowly take it away. i had the same problem and managed to nurse without it for four months after. i know its frustrating so hang in there
