How many times should i breastfeed my 7 month old per day?
Answer:
On demand, on demand, on demand! Remember that your breastfed baby is filling in all the holes and gaps of nutrients that he may be missing when eating solids. You can rest assured as long as your baby is breastfeeding that no matter what he eats for solids, he's still getting everything he needs from you. Also, if you regulate his feedings, you will shortchange him when he hits a growth spurt or when he needs to nurse for comfort. If you are giving him solids at this point, he will probably gradually slow down the breastfeeding and increase in solids on his own whenever he is ready, and you definitely want to let him do this on his own schedule. Babies often naturally adjust their eating habits not only according to their growth patterns but also according to the development of their digestive systems, so that they will eat the solids more and better when their systems are ready for it. Just feed him whenever he wants, however much he wants, and rest assured he will be a very happy, healthy boy!
Congrats on your decision to exclusively breastfeed! Keep feeding on demand. My little boy still nursed 6-10 times a day at that age I think. You could also express some milk and put it in a cup at meals if you would like to introduce a cup.
I always feed mine on demand.
I would still not try to breast feed, i would stick to my guns, and give him a bottle!
I feed on demand. My little girl is 7mo. old as well. Sounds like your doing a great job!!
She probably eats 6- 8 "real" feedings during the day, and just comfort nurses at night (we co-sleep).
Feed him as often as he wants to. At this time - I finally went from nursing every 2 hours to every 3 hours. My son was eating about the same too. Now he is 9 1/2 months and I nurse every 4 hours which amounts to 4 times a day - not so bad. Good luck! My son wouldn't take a bottle either - I still try, but he hates it!
