At more or less what age do babies sit up on their own?

My daughter is 5 1/2 months old and can't sit up but, she leans adjectives the way forward. Both of my elder sons could sit up by this age but maybe they purely got the hang down of it quicker.

Answers:    It is an individual thing. My oldest be 5 1/2 months...the others (have 4 daughters) were 6-8 months. Also, do you permit her "sit" against a pillow to help her build her wager on musles? I did this...read her a book, talk to her...put a few toys within front of her. Then, place her on a blanket on the floor or something. She will learn be a foil for in no time. Just within small time periods..I don`t know 5- 10 mins at a time a few times a day. Leaning FWD is typical! :) My mom would read aloud, "It's OK..her bottom is still a little round." hehe
All babies are different. I'm sure it will arise when it's her time. I think my son set up short help around 5 months.
