When can babies hold up their own heads?

Answer:
when their ready
It various from baby to baby. It also depends on their weight, sex, etc. Usually after a few months babies can support their own head. You can help them improve their neck and core muscles by giving them a few minutes of tummy time every day. Just make sure you watch them so they don't bury their face in their blanket!
my son was a month but it can take up to 3-4 months depends on the baby
most baby's hold up there own head from about 3-4months old it depends some baby's are quick to learn some are lazy but all baby's are different so don't judge as it will happen when it happens.
These days, within two weeks or so. It is not a very strong hold but they can hold it up boucing a little bit.
When they are able to grab and pull up on their ears.
One good way to figure it out is to lay them on their stomach (if you lay them on the bed or on a couch make sure they are surrounded by pillows so they don't fall if they roll over). Watch them for a few minutes and make some strange noises in front and to the side of them. See if they lift their head to look for the source of the noise. If they don't seem interested move one of their favorite toys in out of their field of vision. Just be careful about where you test this out. If a baby who is new to the activity tries to hold their head up too long they might drop their head suddenly. Bumping their head on a carpet floor will hurt baby, making them cry if it doesn't give them a headache and possibly bruise them as well. On the bed is a good place to practice when their new to it.
