all babies develop differently...my daughter is 51/2 months and she "talks" alot!! but she just started about two weeks ago so seems like you are on the same track as we are!
No, your baby is not behind. All babies are different, and some babies are less vocal than others. My oldest wouldn't stop making noise when she was a baby..my 2nd was a quiet baby and now my 3rd one is VERY very vocal...it all depends on the baby really. But if it bothers you and you are really concerned, you could always contact your dr or public health nurse. Don't worry I am sure she's just a quiet baby and just wait, soon enough she won't stop makin noise! LOL
No she is not behind. All babies are different. This week she is quiet and next week she will be cooing your ears off! They just start stuff at this age. Before you know it she will be 4 and asking you questions every 2 seconds! LOL!

not at all ur baby is not behind.i know a mother whose 1 child started cooing at 4 mths and the other is 21 and a half year old and can not say a singal word so all depends on there.
I would ask the doctor, my baby was making noises like that at a very young age. He is a bit ahead, but he is also autistic. But by five mounths your baby should be making lots of cooing noises, their maybe a hearing problem or something, so get Her to the doctor.
For god sake what do you think 5 month old baby's can't talk, read little bit baby's book and you'll know it..they can make noise and goggle but talk come on are you real..
