2 month old sleeping after shots?

My 2 month old got his shots early this morning and he's been sleeping all day. He's only gotten up to eat and then he's back to sleep and now it's 4pm. Is this normal? The web sites I checked didn't say anything about sleeping as a symptom.

Wow, I'm really glad that you asked this! My son got his 2 month shots this morning and he's been sleeping most of the day. My pediatrician said that this is perfectly normal, and that every baby reacts differently. Just keep a close watch on your baby and be there for him/her. I feel so awful for my son, I want him to wake up so that I can hold him and make him feel better! Just make sure that you have Infant Tylenol or Motrin to help him/her through this. Good luck!
very normal, all 3 of my kids did that. don't worry, it may even last another day.
when my baby had his he was sleeping my the time we got to the waiting rm. and slept on my chest all day and night. as long as not droopy looking limp arms and what not he prob just fine. just sore.
also i left his bandiads on and they gave him a rash.
Yeah, my baby is always sleepy after shots.
All babies are different if you are worried ring your doctor on the out of hours number, most babies cry like for ever,so i personally think he/she is just sleeping it off, but i am no nurse.
Perfectly normal. the baby has gone threw alot. Just enjoy the quiet time you have while hes asleep. Hes fine I promis
Perfectly normal. Even some adults sleep alot after getting shots. If he isn't back to normal in a day or so, call your pediatrician. Otherwise, enjoy it while it lasts!
Totally normal...my guy did the same exact thing. I had to wake him up and make him eat. All he wanted to do was snuggle up and sleep on me. No worries mamma, just watch out for fever and keep the baby tylenol handy for pain and discomfort but please consult ayour pediatrician before giving him anything.
yep, that's normal. lots of babies get really sleepy after shots. just keep an eye on him and make sure he isn't lethargic, or limp at all.

they should have given you a list of side effects at the docs, and things to watch out for. if they didn't, you really need to let them know. it is very important to get that info, especially for new parents. i cant imagine a doctors office not giving that out. go ahead and give the doctor a call if you are concerned at all about your baby's behavior, or if it continues to the same degree tomorrow.
yes that is normal most babies after having needles done do sleep ALOT!! and often are put off there food and might be a little sooky but will be back to normal after a day or two my 7 month old son done the exact same thing
It might be normal for him. The other reaction is having one cranky kid, so consider yourself lucky - I know some parents that would trade with you! =) As long as he feeds okay and you get wet diapers out of him (at least 4-5 in 24 hours), he should be back to normal in a day or so.
Personally I don't think it's normal. I would hold off on giving him his next round of shots until his immune system is more developed. Some children do have bad reactions. There is no harm in waiting until he is older. Just do some research and you'll see.
Lol, I just went through that 3 days ago w/ my daughter. If my boyfriend hadn't read the papers the doc gave us about the shots, I would of been freaking out myself. However, it's perfectly normal. My daughter slept the first night and morning, then woke up and didn't sleep until I went and got some motrin that night because she was soo fussy and miserable. Good luck!
