When start feedind new baby?

she is 3 months and 1 week

Answer:
I am assuming you are talking about feeding solids? A lot of this depends on the baby. A good rule of thumb is when they don't seem to be staying full with just a bottle, when they are able to sit up a litte bit in the high chair, when they seem very interested in what you are eating. For most this is about 6 months, but some will put cereal in the bottle with formula or breast milk to fill them up a bit. You could start that now if she just seems hungry, or any time in the next few months. Start with a single grain cereal without fruit, we started with rice, so you can check for possible allergic reaction. If you use the multigrain with fruit and she has an allergic reaction you wouldn't be able to tell what caused it.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Everybody says something different...even doctors. I started feeding my kids the cereal when they were about 3 months. Then fruits/veg at about 5-6mo. But each child and parent is different so whenever you feel she is ready would be the right time.
I am not to sure what your question is..you feed her when she is hungry...now if you are talking about feeding her pablum you can always try now but just a small but as doesn't know really how to eat solid foods
i fed my 1st son earlier but the docs say you should start around four months if u want to start now i dont see why not just make sure it is sloppy
The Health Visitors now recommend 5 1/2 - 6 months. Your baby is too young at the moment. They used to start feeding them at 4 months, but I would speak to your Health Visitor as to how your baby is doing. If she is not gaining much weight they may say start at 4 months but she may well be OK to wait a while longer. Good luck.
i started giveing myson bannans at 2 months he is a twin and his siter wouldnt eat them babies have a refelx to push any thing out of their mouth that doesnt belong to test this put a tiny bit if foodon the tip of her tounge if she starts sticking her toung out you have to wait she has to out grow her refelx first my daughter stillhasnt out grown her reflex and my son is happily enjoying his bannanas they are now 3 months i dont feed him bannanas every day because there is no real need yet i only give him bannanas when he acts hungry after his 8 oz bottle some other helpful hints are to start solds when the baby acts interested in watching you eat or mimics your chewing if you think about it though there is no real need untill the baby has teeth in nature a mama cow stops leting her calf nurse when he bites her so going back to basics if you were nurseing and your baby bit you it would be time to start giveing your baby other foods which is about 4-6 months good luck
ideally it is said that up to 6 months breast fed your baby but if he /she not gaining weight then can switch to top feeds whenever weight start falling.
after 6 mon top feed must as baby needs iron which is either nil or very less in mothers milk

hi, i have 2 children myself which have both gone through the weaning stage with my son he didn't want to know solid foods until he was 6 months and my daughter wanted to feed at 4 months the recommended age is 4 months but some babies don't want it until 6 months. you can normally tell when they want solid foods they start to pay attention to you eating and become more hungry not being satisfied with just their milk. i would wait until your baby is four months, but if he/she is wanting more and more milk then it might be worth trying he/she on solid foods.
I think if baby is no longer satisfied by a milk feed then it's fine to start introducing solids, be careful at first though what you give to her, plain bland foods at first as her tummy is new and not used to solid food. Baby rice, pureed sweet potato, well cooked pureed veg is always tasty. Just a few mouthfuls for her first meal or her tummy will bloat and she'll be in pain. It's trial and error really, have fun tho! The best baby photo's are the ones with dinner round their cute faces! I'D ALSO LIKE TO ADD THAT WHEN OUR PARENTS HAD US AS BABYS, HEALTH VISITORS ADVISED THEM TO FEED US AT 3-4 MTHS AND WE ARE ALL OK RIGHT??!!
around now is ok just one little bowl to start off with they say 6 months now but i dont no anyone that does that just the hospital is stupid saying six months people being feeding babys from 3 months for a very long time and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you dont give them too much to begin with
they tend to say 5-6months due to the fact that a babies digestive system cant digest the lumps of food just yet and to start with baby rice as its not got addatives and things in it incase the baby is alergic to anything...

i started all mine around 5months and only 2 spoons a day...
Hi
They now recommend 6 months however, sometimes HV's GP's will recommend from 4 months which is what we had to do as they felt it would help with severe reflux (it didn't lol!)
I did feel for my baby it was too early as she really wasn't interested. I think back in the 70's breast feeding was out and we were waened at 3months!
I think its when they no longer are staisfied by their milk feeds, seem interested in food and what you are eating. Start off with half a spoon of baby rice once a day and build up from their to fruit/veg purees to twice a day then building up to breakfast lunch and pudding and tea and pudding. It needs to be quite sloppy at the begining. There are lots of good books to advise Gina Ford etc. If you go onto Amazon etc you will probably find loads.
Every baby is different. Talk to your HV for advice.
Don't add anything to the milk in the bottle as someone has suggested.
Good luck with it, it is great fun and very messy!
