I have a 6 month old and he's been having trouble breathing. When i took him to our family doctor he told me
Answer:
I agree, try another doctor. There are other things that your doctor could have suggested to try to atleast ease your babies suffering if it isn't anything to be alrmed about. I would ask a doctor about a nebulizer. Plus you definitely want to rule out asthma or allergies. (I've been hearing alot about people with coughs due to mold in the house.)
If he is having trouble breathing take him to the ER now.
I would try another doctor, it could be asthmatic bronchitis (you don't need to have asthma to get it). They were my symptoms and that was what I had.
Take him to urgent care or the ER NOW
Call the doctor again. If the breathing gets worse to the point of an emergency, take your son to the emergency room right away.
find another doctor that will take your concerns seriously. It could be a cold, but he should have offered solutions to help your baby breath. It sounds like he needs a breathing treatment. If an ER visit is financially out of the question, please get him to another pediatrician. If if sounds like he is having a lot of trouble breathing, and you are worried, don't hesitate to take him to the ER. There are also clinics that will see patients without an appointment called Urgent Care.
Good luck. Hope he gets well soon.
It could be anything from a cold to a virus called RSV, which can be very serious, to asthma. Since it's gotten worse since his doctor saw him either get him back to the dr, or if they won't see him or take too long to get him an appointment I agree with the other posters, get him to the ER.
TRY SOME VICKS VAPO RUB MY MOM USED IT ON ME AND IT ALWAYS WORKED ... USED IT ON MY YOUNGEST BROTHER AND IT WORKS GR8 ... TRY THAT TO BREAK UP W/E IS IN HIS CHEST ... THEN GET A 2ND OPINION.

He needs to see a Pediatrician. Doesn't bub have his own doctor? Why are you taking him to a Family Doc? You need to call Pediatrics, they specialize in BABIES. I don't see a family doc giving good advice for a baby. Call Pediatrics.
I just had respiratory issues with my daughter and she ended up in the hospital.
The doc said you can tell respiratory distress by looking at their chest and stomach. If you see the top of their stomach (right under ribs) going in and out quickly, he is in distress.
There is a lot of junk in the air this year causing horrible allergies in EVERYONE!
Babies don't know how to get that junk out of their chests. They don't know how to "keep coughing till it comes up." It can make it difficult to breath.
Always remember....if you are uncomfortable and worried, take him in. There is NOTHING wrong with that.
If your doctor poo poos you, you have the wrong doctor!!
Your doctor should ALWAYS make you feel confident about the situation. If you don't, move on.
I have had three docs in the last five months with the twins.
I am now happy with who we have. It takes time to find someone you like.
You are the mom....you will worry. You know your baby best. If you think he is breathing funny, take him back in.
