Baby's birthmark changed suddenly?
it has other been raise and soft.
today i noticed that it have a bunch of little white spots in it (even though it realy basically looks like a bunch of red spots massed together) and it is greatly ruff, somewhat like sandpaper, and have also turned a little purple around the nouns.
any idea if this is commonplace? thanks =]
Answers: Of course, you should carry it checked by your peds, but the change is feasible benigh.
Strawberry hemangiomas's natural course is to take bigger up to about 6-7 months of age, consequently they start "involuting"--meaning they will stop growing and gradually "fade", during this process they recurrently turn slightly purple and become rough.
These hemangiomas very completely rarely turn into anything malignant surrounded by babies. So don't panick.
Just wanted to hand over you peace of mind before you acquire to your doctor. Finally, I think this condition is so commonly see by pediatricians you don't have to rush to a dermatologist on the other hand. (Honestly, some dermatologists are not that experienced dealing with child conditions.)
Any time a skin 'abnormality' changes shape, color, texture, etc... it should be checked by a doctor - preferrably a dermatologist.
It does not nouns good, if I be you I`d check with the pediatrician to be risk-free. If it changed that much, I`d be very
concerned..........Better be undisruptive than be sorry........
Know the ABCDs of moles. A-Asymmetry, B-Border Irregularity, C-Color Varied, D-Diameter larger than 6mm. Take him to a dermatologist. If birthmarks convert it can be bad. But on a tot, I'm not sure if the same rules apply. Better nontoxic than sorry.
My daughter was born near one and they said it would go away. It took YEARS for it to run way, but finally her continuing to grow body sort of broke it into little tiny pieces that kept breaking up and breaking up until it go away. So, I sort of wondered if your child was experiencing something similar to that, lone happening more summarily. But with ALL the change in color, size, shape, texture that you describe, I'd enjoy her pediatrician look at it, just to be sheltered.
