Is this abnormal for baby?
Answer:
My daughter did this when she was a newborn, in the hospital, and I thought she was having a seizure. Turns out, she was rooting (looking for the breast, wanting to nurse). Feed him, and see if it doesn't stop.
We called it the "super root" once we figured out what it was. :)
no, it's not a problem. he just learned how to do something new and is doing it over and over. my son did the same thing with every new thing he learned.
hes proaly just learning how to work his neck muscles good
My baby girl does the same thing. Its as if shes looking around in a "no " gesture like you said. I think they are becoming more familiar with their surroundings. If it a fast shake, I would call the Dr. Maybe there is neck pain. My daughter has been doing since 5 months as well she 6 months old now.
he is starting a new thing. Before you know it, there will be a new repetition. It feels cool to him and probably he hears things differently when he moves his head from side to side. I do remember mine doing the same thing. But, there is nothing wrong with you being concerned, that is what mothers do.
my son use to do this also it is their neck muscles strenghten my son use to almost knock me out when he would go back and forth like nodding yes
I DID THE SAME WHEN MY FIRST WAS THAT AGE. ITS ROOTING FOR A MEAL:) I TOOK HIM TO A SEIZURE DOCTOR AND ALL OVER. ITS OK:) ITS A NATURAL REFLEX THEY HAVE TILL ABOUT 1.
My baby, 5 mos, does it when he's tired, looking for a rubbie, or food. He always has, and he's fine
that is how my 10 month old daughter dances, she moves her head from left to right, its so funny
