Babies are born with no knee caps. At what age do they develop them?

Answer:
I dont think they get a knee cap until the age of 2 or 3. But it would be best to ask your childs doctor instead on asking a question like that on here. That away you will get a professionals answer. And the answer will be correct. But I have also heard the same as well. Hope that this helps.

2 to 3 years old

hey i never new that, i thought you would have needed kneecaps for your legs to work properly, you learn every day
Wow, really?! I have a 10 month old daughter and I have never even thought about that! You'd think doctors would mention that or I would have read it somewhere at some point while I was pregnant or in the past 10 months lol. That is crazy!
They have knee caps- they just don't ossify until later. They are fairly soft. 1 year olds walking without knee caps would be a trick.

It's like the skull, the skull is there, but parts are completely soft until later months when the gaps close and then harden.
They have kneecaps! They are soft until they are about 2 though.
