My cat simply have a litter of kittens 5 days ago and her nipples are awfully red and swollen,?

The kittmes seem to be trying to nurse every 20 minutes and crying must of the time. Should I try taking over and feed them myself or is there something I can do for my moma cat?

funny on your encyclopaedia but take to vet and see if mother cat have enough milk.
If they are still trying to nurse that habitually and crying all the time she may not own enough milk. She may own mastitis. That is an infection some mothers get (even a human mom can develop it). You won't want the kittens to drink her milk if she have this infection. The best thing to do would be to thieve her to the vet.
