My 3 month old screams when it comes to burping, is this normal?
Answer:
You are not alone. My son will be 3 months old next week and he also has a fit at burping time. What I have done (and it has helped) is burp him about every 3 ounces. I let him get enough in his system to where he is satisfied and won't get angry when I take away the bottle to burp.
At 3 months you shouldn't have to burp her after every ounce. She is probably screaming because she is mad you took the milk away.
Try burping the baby more often and not feeding him as much between burping, my little girl needed to have her belly rubbed after eating because it caused too much gas for her to handle.
please speak to your babys doctor,it sounds like a acid problem,
babies do that because you are taking the bottle away from them to burp them. I never did that with my son because it seemed so mean and he had no problems finishing a bottle and then burping afterwards. Especialy at her age I would give it a try. When a baby cries they suck in air causing them to be just as uncomfortable if not more uncomfortable as when you started. It doesnt hurt either way burp or not burp in the middle of a bottle. Go with what your daughter likes and is comfortable with. Good luck!!

yes lt is. let her scream all she wants. she`s just being a little to fussy. some babies hate that when you try to burp them. see lf you can put the baby on her tummy and burp her and see how lt goes. babies can be so stubborn at times.
No that isnt Normal Maybe its the way your doing it, like the position your holding the baby in, or if your rocking when doing it, Try various ways to see which one works best, Also Maybe try to not burp in between ounces if your still doing that, Wait till the finish.
YES EVERYTIME I WAS DONE WITH AN OUNCE AND WENT TO BURP MY SON HE USED TO SCREAM HIS HEAD OFF CASUE HE WAS HUNGRY AND WANTED MORE AND MORE AND DIDNT WANT TO STOP DRINKING BUT YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT AND LET HIM OR HER SCREAM UNTIL YOU GET THAT BURP THEN CONTINUE ITS VERY IMPORTNANT TO GET THE BURPS SO SHE'LL BE OK SHES JUST HUNGRY AND WANTS MORE AND ITS UPSETING TO THEM WHEN THEY ARE INJOINING THERE FOOD SO MUCH AND YOU TAKE IT AWAY AND THEY CRY AND YOU FEEL BAD BUT ITS SO IMPORTNANT FOR THE BABY TO BURP AND ONCE YOU START AGAIN AND TAKE IT AWAY SHE'S GONNA STILL CRY BUT SHE'LL BE OK LOL
I think she is mad that you are burping her to soon. You could go ahead and give her a full bottle and then burp her. Are you feeding her any cereal in the bottle? If so.. maybe feed her half the bottle then burp and finish the rest and burp. I wish you the best of luck.. Congrats on your little one!
yes i do. it just means that they are hungry and they do not want to burp. but they must burp.
Well, one reason could be that you're patting her too hard. Or maybe your positioning is uncomfortable for her. If propping her up on your shoulder doesn't help for her, try sitting her on your lap, making sure she is sitting up as straight as possible, with one hand between her tummy and her chest, (mostly on her chest of course since she is only 3ms), and the other on her back. Gently, but with a slightly firm push, rub her back in a circular motion. Another suggestion could be that she is not ready to be burped yet. I don't know how much she takes in one sitting but maybe you could try 2 or 3 oz. before you try to burp her. Hope this helps you. And congrats on the new edition!!!
We give our daughter her pacifier when she does that, she can still burp with it in her mouth and as long as she isn't walking around with the pacifier between ages 1 and 2, I'm very comfortable in giving her one to soothe her... :)
I have an 11 week old baby and he does the exact same thing. I burp him every two ounces and he throws a fit because i am not feeding him instead. he will throw his arms around wiggle and stand up on his legs while I am holding him so that he doesnt have to be burped. And Im not doing it hard or anything. He just would rather eat then burp. I talked to my doc. about it and he said that if he would rather eat everything first to just let him eat and then burp him that it would be fine.
Hold her against your chest and just rub her back gently, while you are kind of bouncing gently on your feet.
This worked with my lil' boy. I didn't think it would but it did.
Good luck!
