At what age should you start taking you baby to play dates?
Answer:
My daughter is 10 months old and we have a play date about 2 times a month. Its cool to see your childs reaction to another baby. I would say that as long as you are ok with it then go for it! Our play dates are short so both kids dont get fussy. Enjoy!! Good Luck!!
At this age babies only really like to look at each other. They don't really interact until closer to a year. I would start taking him now though, because play dates are as much for the mother as for the kids. Us moms need someone to talk to other than our kids once in a while!
You can start taking him as soon as you want. The baby will really enjoy playdates when he is close to a year old.
Playdates, are totally for you at that age. And you should totally go and spend time with other moms. You will love it. I mean my baby enjoyed them, but they kept my sanity.
I started taking my son as soon as we adopted him (6 months old). They are more for you than your child at this point, but it's nice for you to bond with the other parents before your child really is ready for a playgroup. Our playgroup meets weekly, and all the kids (it's a close siblings playgroup -- the oldest kids are almost 4, and the youngest just turned 2) are very close. It's fun to watch them interact, and to watch them grow up together.
