Bathing a 5 month old baby?
Thank u all so much. :)
Answer:
Place a clean soft towel in the bottom of your baby"s bath tub so he won't slip around. Now place him in supporting his back with one hand and having made a mitt out of your face cloth suds him up and wash his face and body and hair if you choose to. Rinse him by cupping hand with water place towel over sholder and wrap him up to dry. Place him on bed and rub with baby lotion or oil and I always sprinkled a little powder on his bottom. This method worked fine for me and I bathed dozens of babies in my time!!
duh get a baby bath!!!
DEAR THEY MAKE A BABY BATH TUB FOR THE SINK TO BATH THEM WITH YOU CAN BUY THEM ANY WHERE OK TAKE CARE
have your mom show you how to bath him in a baby bath
ok...save your money...for one. use the sink. baby should be about old enough to hold his/her head up. you set them in the sink and hold the back of 'his' head. the other hand is free. wash with the free hand. if you need more than this get in my mail
bed baths r always easy. just take a basin and fill it w/water and use a wash cloth to clean him up.
another way is 2 use a baby bathtub, my daughter hated it. i just took a bath with her.
the other thing i used 2 do was after she was able 2 sit up i would bath her in the kitchen sink. put a folded towel down and fill it with about 6 inches of water and baby soap. this is the way my grandma used 2 bath me.
It's not as hard as it looks! Your baby is now 5 months old which means he's also now squirmy! Get one of those baby baths that let the baby stay seated slightly, then give him a toy to play with :)
Option # 1

This you con put on top of the baby dresser.
Option #2 ( my personal favorite, i own it!)
http://www.safety1st.com/product.asp?pro...
with this chair you can bathe your baby in the bathub with you inside or outside... he will be safe and comfy.
For your comfort you can also buy this with Option#2:

If you opt for #2 also buy this

It will prevent you baby from hurting his head with the water faucet.
Hope this helps
They have pleanty of infant tubs that are good and reasonably priced. For his age, the one that they lay back in that supports their head and neck. And the baby can sit in that tub til about 7-9 months or until they grow out of it.
If your 5 month old is anything like the size that mine was AND can sit unassisted for short periods, skip the infant tub and get the inflatable one.
I got one and it was the best purchase ever. He was too big for the infant tub and the regular tub took too long to fill and was too slippery and he would try to stand. The inflable one isn't as slipper, fills in no time and is just soft enough that he is hesitant to stand in it. Not to mention you can lean them back to rinse the shampoo out.
It was like this one, but not this exact one:

I suggest a bath pillow nut tub, it's put into tub and more comfortable for baby, what is your mom using now? bathe the baby with your mom, so you can learn how
get a baby tub they cost about 12 dollars and fill it with water then just wash him up keep an eye on him cause sometimes they slip but please never wash your baby in the sink there is so much bacteria in the sink.
At 5 months, don't bother getting the baby tub, most kids are out of them by six months. Either put a towel in the bottom of the sink, or move to a regular tub with only a couple inches of water. Either way, NEVER EVER leave a child alone in water for even one second. If the phone rings, let it ring! Get all your supplies together before the bath so you don't have to leave to fetch a towel or anything. If you do have to leave, take the baby out of the water and bring him/her with you.
You can get one at wal-mart. Get the one that kinda cradles back. You'll be able to let him just relax back in it while you bathe him. I used to put mine in the kitchen sink. It was a perfect fit. It's a lot easier on your back as you can just stand up and bathe him. When my son was able able to sit up, in that kinda in between stage, I didn't use it. I just put him in the sink and gave him a bath. Just don't leave him unattended EVER and you'll be fine. I know it's scary I was scared to death.
Since the baby is 5 months I would not get a baby bath tub. You should buy one of the sponges that are shaped like a teddy bear that you lay your baby on. Dont fill the bath tub up so much and lay the sponge down and you lay your baby down. Very easy and dont cost no more then $4. There is another thing you can use but cost around $15-$20 its a ring you sit them in and they can sit up on there own.
