Mine didn't. He is more advanced then the other children his age. The worse that could happen is having difficulties breathing. Good luck

There is no way to determine that a child born at 36 weeks will have any developmental problems. I have dealt with children born at 23 and 30... weeks with no long term conditions. The long term results will depend on the child itself. There are no promises in any pregnancy full term or premature. Best of luck to the Mom dealing with the stress of going preterm. Keep believing in the best, if you are healthy and your pregnancy has been a good one, chances are on your side!!
In general, while 40 weeks is officially full-term, most OBs will safely treat a woman who has reached 36 weeks as full-term. They won't try to stop labor or limit her activity in any way. For the most part, babies who make it to 36 weeks have no health/developmental problems related to prematurity.
Don't worry, everything is going to be fine.
The longer you can carry the baby, the better. Having said that, I gave birth to twins at 35 weeks, and they were 41/2 lbs. They had to stay in NICU for a couple of weeks, but are now healthy adults. I think your baby will be fine being born at 36 weeks. Good luck and God Bless.

My youngest daughter was born at 36 weeks and had no ill-effects whatsoever. She may have been a little slow to gain weight in the first few months but had no breathing, eating or neurological problems. She's now a 30lb 2-1/2 yr old, extremely bright and full of energy

no your baby will be just fine and grow up like a full term baby. My son was born at 32 weeks and he is only developmentally a month behind where he should be and he just turned a year.
Noone knows how the baby will turn out. I have a baby that was born at 24 weeks and he is fine. He is now 1 year old. He's walking, talking, running, singing, and fighting like a normal baby. He is in therapy, but thats to make sure he is fully caught up. My son is a normal baby.

doubtful. 36 weeks is only 1wk shy of the 37-40wk full term window. i was born (i'm 31) at 34 weeks and my son (he's 6 now) was born at 29 weeks and he's the smartest in his 1st grade class, with no sign he was early at all. if you child has any problems, they are likely not going to be due to his being born at 36 weeks.

The only problem my son had was breathing problems; he suffered from the Highlands membrane disease. That is where the air sacks haven't completely developed.
Other than that he was more advanced than some, but not quite as much as most.
No. My son was born that early and is very intellegent for his age, started sitting up at five months, crawling at six, rolling over at two months and walking at ten months. He is now a year old and is talking very clear compared to a two year old that i keep so no he will not have developmental problems.

My twin girls were born at 32 weeks last Nov. and today, at 14 months, they are walking, talking, playing and learning all day long.
So, I would again say, I hope not.
Just praise God for your precious miracle everyday. Pray for your babies developement and continued growth.
