Period after csection?
I had a baby 10 weeks ago. I have not had a period yet. I feel like I am pregnant again- breasts swollen, really tired, but my preg test was neg. I do not have any cervical mucus but I still feel pregnant. Has anyone experienced this?
Answer:
maybe u should go see the doctor again
AFTER I HAD MY C-SECTION I BLED FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT, I STARTED TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS SO MY PERIOD GOT BACK TO NORMAL. BUT I NEVER MISSED ONE LIKE THAT.
Well, first of all you need to make sure you don't get pregant again so soon because your body needs awhile to recuperate (2 back-to-back pregnancies aren't the smartest thing, nor the best for your body). It will take awhile for your period to return. I had 2 c-sections. Are you breastfeeding? Also, you really shouldn't be having sex for awhile, either. Don't rush things! Take it easy.
yes i had the same i bled for a while right after the cecrean and the nothing for a while the doc gave me some sort of hormone and i bled like normal and started birth control but there was no way that i was preg again cuz i did not let anyone touch me for a long time after that !! good luck
Personally I haven't experience this, but it is normal after a cs to not get your period for a couple of months. It's actually better than after a normal delivery. After a normal delivery you bleed like if you were going to die. I have 3 sisters who all had cs and they all went through what you are going through. The swollen breasts is due to the milk; the tiredness-your body is still recovering from such a traumatic and exhausting experience; and feeling pregnant still-very normal. I felt like that after my first child even almost a year later.
It took almost three whole months for mine to return. I also felt fatigue, which im attribting now to sleepless nights. I think that you should wait another two weeks and if its not back by then, I would call your MD. Did you mention this at your 8 week checkup. I did with my MD and he told me that this is normal and it could take months to come back. Let me tell you though, when it did come, it was like a tsunami. That is one thing no one ever told me, and it was very worrysome beucase I thought i was hemmoraging. I hoep this helped, good luck to you.
Are you breastfeeding? That will affect the return of your period. if not, you could be exhausted from caring for a newborn! Your breasts can be sore if there is still some milk. It is possible for you to be pregnant without having had a period yet. You have cervical mucous when you are ovulating, not when you are pregnant.
You may want to take another HPT in a couple of days. I think that you should call your OGBYN to make sure that he/she thinks all is normal.
After my c section, I bled for maybe 6 weeks but not heavy at all. Then I got my period the exact day that I had my last period last year before I got pregnant.
Yes I had my daughter in the first week of Oct and just got my first period this week. I was worried to but it will come eventually.
I've not had a c-section, but I have had five babies. I don't know what life is like if you aren't nursing, but I got 9-12 months off having a period by breastfeeding with each baby (no pacifier, no bottle--if you are serving all your baby's sucking needs at the breast, it is a real bonus for both of you!) My breasts stayed a full size larger than usual the entire 10 years I was pregnant/nursing. Trust your pregnancy test, and if you don't want to be pregnant yet, take precautions. You are still post partum and probably sleep deprived, so those pregnancy symptoms could be confusing. There is only a 4% chance of conceiving before you have that first period, according to Taking Charge of Your Fertility. If you're nursing and the test is negative, you can be pretty sure you aren't pregnant.
Congratulations on your new baby! :-)
