"First teeth" charts..?

In some baby books you get a teeth chart to mark down what day and how old your baby was when he/she got their first teeth! However, should the date I record be the date that I see the teeth underneath the skin or when they finally push out?

Answer:
Whichever you wish, but most people record when they actually push out ("emerge") from under the gum. Either way, just be consistent, and there won't be a problem. :) You know what you mean.
I would have to say..when the tooth finally pushes out. I've seen my daughter's teeth under her skin since the day she was born. :-) BTW- You're baby is ADORABLE!
I use the date that my son's teeth actually push through the skin. Sometimes you can see the teeth under the skin for quite a while before they actually come through the gum line.
