Answers:    Best bet is to go to Medweb and check it out. They own excellent ifno on most health related topics. I longing you the best. Autism can be a great challenge.
Well, if I be young and have sand on me, I wouldn't want it on me anyway. Sand feels really odd to a child and I don't think I know of ANY babyish children like that that want to touch the sand next to their hands. There really aren't a unbroken lot of signs of autism in a child that small because some children don't speak until after that. As far as actually conversation rather than noise. Google Autism and see what you come up with.
No Christy have a ONE point about kids at that age hate sand...they usually grow out of it and come to LOVE sand but at 2.5 yrs. old...various wouldnt like it...i give attention to what your thinking of is that some autistic people are 'tactile defensive' they dont close to to be touched, they dont like touching several different things ...they are timid around things they are unfamiliar next to...so maybe they will sit on the velour couch at home...but snub to sit on the velour couch in a friends home...etc....
i really construe this is a question for your pediatrician. at 2.5 this child should be discussion....start with any audible range disorders and go from near. Many states have agencies that will submit early intervention programs (for free) to assistance kids at this age but it starts with an assesment from a medical doctor. Good luck
frequent early intervention programs own testing if you regard your child has a disabilty or any develpomental problem. also yak to his/her doctor about this.
