1 month old baby with acne, need advice please!?
Also someone told me Neosporin would work, does anyone know if this may be true?
Answer:
Do NOT put neosproin on your baby face!!! Try washing his face with Alveno baby bath this usually helps
dont put cream on his face that never fixes pimples its normal for babys their skin is so sensitive and their lil pores get clogged easily just keep his face clean and eventually they will go away.
I don't know about Neosporin but this worked WELL for all three of my children. It is an old wives tale I believe but Cornstarch. Just rub a dab of DRY cornstarch on the affected areas. keep away from eyes, nose and mouth obviously but in a few days the acne had cleared completely! Hope this may help you!
it is really normal for your baby to be going thru this. every baby does. some just get it worse than others. your baby may just have super sensitive skin. my baby does so I buy him the Aveeno body wash and baby lotion (also aveeno). that seems to help him out a lot.
Don't put anything on it. Both of my kids had it. Just wash his face with a washcloth. It will go away on it's on. I know it's hard to not want to try something to make it go away but it won't last long. Good Luck.
I am thinking that it could be baby acne or also what they call milk bumps. I have a friend that had a baby a few months ago, and the doctor gave her some hydrcortisone cream, also try not using so much oils, and lotions, as this will only aggravate it.Good Luck!
Please don't worry~ these bumps are unsightly and can look painful to the baby, but it is just a normal phase that ALL babies go through. It is simply a reaction to the hormones (from you while you were pregnant) being flushed out of the baby's body. It is not from anything you did, and won't really clear up completely for at least a week. If it's unbearable for you, ask your pediatrician. I know someone else suggested it, and it worked very well for my sister's baby, who had such a severe rash, that it needed medicine~ anyway~ hydro cortisone cream will clear it up in a day. Make sure you get a prescription for your baby, though, because it is a much lower % for an infant. Hope this helps!
Hi there, i have a 7month old son (bless him).
he had the lil reb bumps your son had, its was scary and i was so worried, but i was reassured by my midwife not to put cream, olive oil or anothing like that that may make the skin greasy, because that will just make the skin worser, because everyone knows acne gets worser when the skin is oily or greasy.
and now my midwife and health visitor was right.
talk to your health visitor if you dont have one talk to your doctor.
oh yeh forgot, midwife and health visitor told me it wasnt acne i forgot what the name was but baby get it it can take up to 1/2/3months. i was told to keep his skin clean, and to use cotton wool and clean water not too hot nor too cold just right for the little 1.
but i's still recommened ask your doctor or health visitor.
dnt wry, my sons skin is perfect now because i followed what i was told and never let his skin be greasy.
i no long essay lol hope it helps.
Both my boys have it off and on and it always goes away. Sometimes it looks horrible. All I do is wash their faces with wascloths or sensitive babywipes a couple times a day and it clears up. If you clean them too much they end up with dry skin (trust me:)
It's Milia or baby acne. It's thanks to immature sweat glands and your hormones from the pregnancy. Wash his face everynight with baby soap like johnson&johnsons or whatever is made for babies. It will go away. Neosporin, not a good idea.
I wouldn't put anything on his face without consulting the doctor. Baby acne will eventually go away on it's own.
My son had it at 5 weeks. It got worse when cuddled against wool sweaters. Make sure you always have a receiving blanket between the person's clothing and the baby's skin when anyone with a sweater or wool jacket holds him (actually, a lot of fabrics are wool blends, so just protect his sensitive skin with a receiving blanket when anyone holds him.)
I wouldn't put anything on it, just keep his face washed clean.
Wash his face with water & pad dry w/ clean towel. Take him out on sunny days bc the sun natuarally dries up the skin & clears the pimples. My friend did that w/ her baby & it all cleared up within a week or so. Don't use baby wipes on his face nor neosporin cream.
The cornstarch seems logical for they use that on diaper rashes too. I have found that baby wipes caused my 1st sons diaper rashes. On my 2nd son I just washed his bottom with clear water & he never got a diaper rash. I only used baby wipes when we were on an outing.
Trust me the sun does wonders even if it is a 1/2 hr. a day.
Try a mild baby body wash, try not to use too much though. This is completely normal. Dont try to pop them either, that will make it alot worse than it already is.
my doctor told me that if it got worst to get her a cream called HYDROCORTISONE it really works. You can get it over the counter.
don't do anything it could make it worse the only thing most ped drs advise is to wipe babys face and neck several tines a day with warm non-soap rag
My Dr. told me to try 1% Hydrocortisone...it worked wonders. Her skin is beautiful now and it was sooo awful before. I have to be sure to put a thin layer on every day or it comes back but the difference was amazing. Her skin looked a little worse the day after I put it on but it was clear by the next day.
By the way, I tried just washing, I tried putting breastmilk on it, I tried diluting Selsun Blue (all suggestions from message boards) and none of these worked but the Hydrocortisone.
