Is there a good parenting/edu book to baby for a new mummy?

Answer:
I *hated* the "What to Expect" series of books.

For pregnancy & birth, I'd suggest:
The Pregnancy Book by Dr. Sears
Your Pregnancy Week by Week
The Birth Book by Dr. Sears
The Birth Partner by Simkin
Birthing From Within by England (great for dealing with any emotional issues or fears)
Choosing Waterbirth by Bertram (sp?)
Husband Coached Childbirth by Dr. Bradley

For breastfeeding:
So THAT'S What They're For by Janet Tamero
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by La Leche League

For development:
Your Baby & Young Child, Birth to Age 5 by the AAP
The Baby Book by Dr. Sears

For discipline:
Adventures in Gentle Discipline by Hilary Flower
The Discipline Book by Dr. Sears
The Successful Child by Dr. Sears
How to Talk So Children Will Listen & Listen So Children Will Talk by Faber & Mazlish
Siblings Without Rivalry by Faber & Mazlish
Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline by Becky Bailey
Kid Cooperation by Elizabeth Pantley
Kids, Parents & Power Struggles by Kurcinka
Raising Your Spirited Child by Kurcinka
Playful Parenting by Cohen
Look up "What to Expect the First Year" and other books in that series. It's a classic.
What To Expect The First Year helped me more than I can tell you! It is a must have for all new mothers. In fact, you can get them for the Toddler Years and up as well.
The best book in the world for a new mommy is What to expect when your expecting and What to expect the first year!! These books contain everything you could possibly want to know!! it helped out a lot at 2 or 3 in the morning so instead of waking everyone else up i could go to my book!! you wont regret it!!
I know everyone else has already said it, But you HAVE TO get the "What to expect when your expecting" set. It really is the best thing for an expecting or new mommy.
I have had success using the "What to Expect" series as well as the "Pregnancy Week by Week" & "Baby's First Year Week by Week".
I bought What to Expect When You're Expecting and consulted it throughout my pregnancy. As I grew closer to giving birth I bought What to Expect the First Year. Both have proven priceless.
