2 month is sick with running nose and cough what can i give her? (2)?

can i give her tylenol for infants or robitussin for infants. or does any one who what is good to give her. oh can i also put vicks on her chest to right.

Answer:
I think any pediatrician you ask if going to tell you not to give her anything and just ride it out. You can take her into the bathroom and let the shower run really hot to generate a lot of steam. Elevate her crib mattress if she has a lot of congestion. Use saline drops and then use the nasal aspirator to get any crud out of her nose. Otherwise you're stuck.

If it doesn't improve you might want her to be checked out for RSV. The VIcks might not be a good idea if there is any chance she could get her hands in it and then put them in her mouth.
go to the dr.
try medicinal marijiuna, or acid
definitely ask a pharmacist or your child's doctor.

my son had a "cold" too, but my doc said to just use the lil squeezey nose thing...which he HATED, so I just ended up giving up because he'd cry so much he'd just make his nose even more stuffy and runny.

As long as there's no fever, I wouldn't worry too much. You can't really give 2 month old infants medicines...
It totally goes by the child's weight.anything under like 20 pounds needs to be run by a pediatrician first. You can also try turning on the shower super hot and taking the baby in the bathroom with you (NOT in the shower) and let them breathe in the moist, warm air. This really helps with congestion. And use the nasal aspirator to help the baby's nose clear out a little. Good Luck!!
i had the same problem with my daughter. try gioing in to the smallest room in your house andboiling the kettle keep the lid off so it doesnt boil off an keep refilling it as it boils away. it does work its also good for yourself as it cleans your skin also try putin snuffle babe on her back just alittle cause she is so young and on the soles of her feet if you have a oilburner put some menthol crystals in it or vicks for a few hours in her room with her it will help her breath a bit better it worked for mine. hope this helps also olibas oil for babies is for three month olds that might work as it is closer to her age
u really need to check w/ur Dr. bcz my 2 month baby had the same thing and I gave him tylonal and thoguht he was better but when I took him 2 the DR he had Bronchiolitis usually begins with cold symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, and perhaps a mild cough. she might not have it but it's always better 2 scheck w/Dr when they r that young ( i learned the hard way)
You definetly need to go see your pediatrician. What may seem like a little cold may be strepp throat or even something more serious especially at this age...or just a simple cold (let's hope). My pediatrician told me to give him a dosage of Motrin but only at bedtime (once a day) and give him saline nasal drops about 4 times a day to break up the mucus. Than he got another cold that lasted 6 weeks...and they kept telling me to give him Motrin. I brought him in again and sure enough it was strep throat. But please, go see the pediatrician or at least give them a call and see what they say. Good luck and I hope it is nothing more serious than just a simple cold.
Over the counter medicines aren't very effective on infants this young so they aren't recommended to use. Tylenol won't do anything unless she has a fever. Use a humifier in her room where she sleeps. The shower like what has been suggested is good too. Also, get saline drops and a bulb syringe to remove mucus in her nose (little noses has the instructions on teh side of the box). You could put a couple of books under one side of her crib or bassinet where her head is so she is at a SLIGHT angle to help with drainage when she sleeps. I went though the same think with my 5 month old. Starting day care, he had a cough and runny nose for almost 2 months.
Use saline nose drops and a bulb syringe.try to keep her nose as free from boogies as you can. Elevate one end of her crib mattress w/a pillow or something UNDER the mattress. This way her head is up a little while sleeping to help with congestion.

Use a humidifier in the room.

If no temp or infection you'll have to ride it out. I know it totally s*cks but she's too small for any sort of medicine (even vapor rub...too potent) unless prescribed. If it gets to be too much or you're simply not sure just call her pediatrician...if at the very least to ease your mind and make sure she's ok. Good luck.
Well my son got sick when he was about 2 months old and his doctor told me to give him the smallest doseage of tylenol plus cold for infants. It can be found at wal-mart.
