we are very excited, but i would like to know
how many diapers does a newborn go thru in a day? and how many times a day newborn usually get hungry? im soo new to all of this
please help i want to be a great mommy.
Answer:
I am a Daddy...you will need many diapers. Pretty much, every time you feedthe baby, you will also need a diaper change about 30 minutes later. As far as feeding them, you usually start at about 2 ounces per feeding and feed them every 2-3 hours...you will receive all this information from your doctors.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your life as you know it now will officially be over in June, enjoy your baby.
Many many diapers & many many feedings for a newborn. This decreases as the baby gets a more mature digestive tract. Good luck!
about 12 diapers
every 2 hours to eat
There are a lot of books about there. The "what to expect" books are helpful.
Also, prenatal classes are helpful.
Your baby will probably go through 6-8 wet diapers, 2-4 stool diapers in a day. A newborn is usually hungry every 2 hrs.
Congratulations!

I also recommend the book " What to expect the first year". It was very helpful...

the baby goes thru about 10 to 15 diapers some times more it really depends on the eating habit if you breastfeed the baby eats
about every 2-3 hours. bottle feeding about every 4 hours. thier is good book it is called "what to expect when expecting "really good
information get it. good luck.
First off, congratulations!
Being a first time Mom can be scary. I have 3 children and I am still learning. Remember no ones goes to school to become a Mom, but our children certainly help us along in that role.
Trust yourself and your baby. In the first couple months, babies just eat, sleep and dirty their diapers. If they are not sleeping, then they want to be feed and they will let you know. Newborns are feed usually every 3-4 hours, but they will cry if they are hungry. It doesn't take long for your breast milk to go through them, so you would have to change them shortly after they have been feed. Newborns need to be changed every 3-4 hours. Babies like to sleep though, so they are sleeping and it's been 3-4 hours, it's O.K. to let them sleep, they will wake up when they are hungry.
Remember, trust yourself and you will do great!
Good luck!
Oh, it seems like they spend all day eating and go through ALL of the diapers ever created.
In reality, they go through 10 (ish) diapers in a day and eat every 2 to 4 hours depending on whether they are breast or bottle-feeding. Breast-fed babies eat every 2-3 hours (mine chose to eat every 2 hours) and bottle-fed babies eat around every 3-4 hours.
They sleep almost all the time, except for when they poop or eat. Try to rest as much as you can when baby's sleeping. You get used to sleep being broken down into several 2-3 hour naps throughout the day.
When a relative or friend offers to help you, take the help. Go to the shops for an hour. Take that shower you've been ignoring.
Let the housework go. It'll still be there when you eventually get to it.
Every mom goes through the newness of it all and it can be overwhelming. Just remember that your mom was a new mom once, too--as was her mom, and her mom's mom. And somehow you all ended up ok.
Congratulations!!

but i hope & feel u'll do juz great as u go along...
my say, read alot!
go go!!
It all depends on the baby. Generally it is every 2-3 hours they will be hungry and they will usually pee or poop with each feeding or need to be changed before, during, and/or after each feeding.
My best advice, stock up on size 1 diapers. They go through alot when they are newborns and it slows down a little bit as they get older.
Just remeber, newborns have no sense of time of day, they will wake up and need to be fed every 2-3 hours 24 hours a day. If you are lucky, they will sleep longer at night to give you a bit of repreive, but this too will get better as they get older.
Congrats and good luck!
I changed my daughter right after every feeding. She ate every 2-3 hours in the first month of life. Then she went to eating every 4 hours.
Congratulations to ya! My baby was eating about 2 ounces every 1 1/2- 2 hours, and went through about 10-12 diapers a day. And lots and LOTS of wipes! And make sure you have a boatload of receiving blankets- trust me on this one!
Newborns DO go through a lot of diapers. However, most of them outgrow the Newborn-sized diapers very quickly (within a few days or few weeks of birth). My friend's baby weighed 9 lbs at birth, and couldn't even wear them in the hospital.
I'd get a few large packs of the size N diapers and a few large packs of the size 1 diapers. That way, you'll have whatever size your baby needs on hand.
