Did you see that Oprah show, about baby talk? How to you interpret baby crys?
and ahhhh ahhhhhhhhh hungry? I think?
HELP!!!!
Answer:
You need to find someone who has the current edition of "BabyTalk" magazine. There's an article about it in there. That said here are the "words":
Neh="I'm hungry"
Owh="I'm sleepy"
Heh="I'm experiencing discomfort" (diaper change)
Eair="I have lower gas"
Eh="I need to burp"
*Remember these are only for until they reach the age of about 3 months, at that time the language spoken around them starts to influence their "speech."
*Addition*: The woman who wrote about the hair is absolutely right. You need to check fingers, toes, and penis frequently for stray hairs. My youngest daughter was really good at getting them wrapped around her ginger and toes. One time I ended up taking her to the ER because one had gotten wrapped around her toe so tightly no one at home could get it off (It had gotten to the "weeping" point where the toe was leaking clear fluid, it took 2 doctors and 2 nurses to get the thing off, talk abou scary!)
Also here is a link to the actual Dunstan Baby Language Page:
Yes I did. And I have that on TIVO just in case a friend ever needs it. But here's the actual page from Oprah's site:

I hope that helps you!

didnt u ask a question about babies befor a couple of seconds and i answerd u :D but its ok my answer is like the same. :D good luck :)
Each baby is different. You will learn what your baby's cries mean. May not be the same as what was on the show. Each baby is an individual.
February issue of Baby Talk Magazine has an article about this...
"Neh" I'm hungry
"Owh" I'm Tired
"eh" Burp me
"heh" I'm uncomfortable
"Eairh" I have Gas
Yes, and it is total bullsh*t.
Sorry but different humans use different chemicals to digest food and you expect me to believe we are all born speaking the same language, which we magically forget at a certain age?
Also most of the time she guessed either hunger (duh! Babies eat constantly) or gas or too cold. Both of which are unprovable and the fixes for them fix almost any problem aside from hunger.
HI! and WOW I can't believe there's a science to a baby's cry! lol! I think most importantly, and what has not been mentioned, is that a HIGH PITCHED, sudden wailing where baby holds out the cry and has a hard time getting air back in can mean PAIN! I remember the first time my (NOW 5) son as an infant did this, i was TERRIFIED! I couldnt console him with breastfeeding he would suckle for a second then let go and continue screaming. After checking everything (diaper, temperature, feeling his belly for hardness to detect gas) I just STRIPPED him naked only to find to my horror that a strand of my hair had gotten wrapped around his penis. THANK GOD he was fine after I removed it, but it was the MOST horrible heart wrenching cry imagineable! You WILL get to know your baby's cries! Go with "mother's instinct". Babies are really not that complicated. There are basically only a few things it could be, gas, hunger, thirst, boredome, pain, discomfort, and overstimulation, in which most often they just shut down and go to sleep anyways! But, just be patient and you will see, you will know your baby better than anyone, and she will learn to take comfort in that! Good luck and god bless
