About baby formula?

I know they say on the container if you make up bottles ahead it can be refriged to 24 hours How much longer can you go past that and still be able to use it as long as its still in the fridge?

Answer:
If your concerned about it going bad, only make enough to last the 24 hours. I do believe (it's been awhile) that you can put it in the fridge for 48 hours.
I'd say 48 hrs.! Never hurt mine!!!!!!!!!!...
36-48 at most, but always check the smell and make sure that you dont out them on the door since opening ang closing fridge does not let them stay as cold as they need to.
Stick with the recommendations. You don't need to make more bottles than you need in one day. If you let it sit out, even in the fridge, it loses it's nutritional value after 24 hours. If you need to prepare for two or three days check the container to see if it can be frozen. Do not microwave the bottle to unfreeze. Warm some water over the stove to boiling, remove from heat and put the bottle (with the lid on tight) in the hot water for about 5 minutes or until the bottle is warm. Might take longer, but it is much safer. When you heat a bottle in a microwave it heats unevenly, so even if it doesn't seem hot to you it could be very hot in the center. If you have more questions call the manufacturer, they can answer your questions.
Honestly, what is the point of making bottles up ahead of time? Then you have to reheat them, and there's the chance of it going bad and going to waste. Why not just maske the bottles as you need them? Saves time and money! But to answer your question, I wouldn't use it past the 24 hrs. Why take the chance? Would you drink potentially spoiled milk? Then why should your baby?

Add in*: You should NEVER microwave formula OR breast milk. Besides the issue of hot spots, it destroys much needed vitamins and minerals no matter how short a time you "nuke" it.
say you wanted to make a container of formula already prepaired?? well then it can stay in the fridge for up to 48 hours, no longer! just throw out any unused portion left in baby's bottle
I agree 100% with autumnofserenity. Formula is very $$$ .. why waste.
it can be put in the fridge for 48 hours. I do that now for my two month old because in the middle of the night when your half asleep it is a lot easier to just grab a bottle and put it in the microwave instead of making a bad measurment of formula to water ratio with blurry eyes. the microwave is fine for a few seconds. the only way hot spost can form is if you put it in too long or if you dont shake it adequately. also it is a lot easier during the day as well isay for instance you had an emergency and needed to run out the bottles already made. just grab it and go.
I would say 48 hours but give it a sniff first, it does go bad rather quickly due to the high fat content, I think.
