How do i make m baby's cradle cap go away Faster with out hurting him?
Answer:
after his bathes rub lotion into his hair and head. that is what I had to do with my son... I also used baby oil..
Rub olive oil on it, 15 minutes later brush with a soft brush. Do this 2-3 times a day.
You probably won't get it gone now, but I always just gently scratched my babies heads with my fingernails. I think it kind of soothed them. It eventually loosens it up, so when you wash, it all comes out.
Rub baby oil on his head...it will make his hair greasy..but it will soften up the crusty skin..and u should be able to carefully comb it out...it may take a few shampooings..but the oil will come out
My son is the same way and the Dr. gave me P&S shampoo for baby and told me to rub his head with baby oil every day. It seems to work I've used it for 3 days and it's getting better.
Your doctor would tell you to leave it alone, but...
here are two things that I promise will work without hurting him.
Mustela foam shampoo. You can get it at some Bath and Body Works stores and at some baby stores. It's kind of expensive though.
Rub some baby oil on his scalp (be really careful to avoid face and eyes) and gently brush with a soft brush to loosen the flakes, let it sit a while and then shampoo. You might have to do this a couple of times before it's completely gone.
soak it in baby oil and use a soft brush and brush it out but only do it a little at a time because it gets agitating
When I was in the hospital they gave me a soft brush, that I use every time I wash my daughter. Her cradle cap is now gone but I still use it. Don't look at it as oh my god am I hurting him/her. Look at it as it will feel better to them when this is gone. Don't be afraid to really wash. You won't break you baby. Really! I have two children and they aren't broke. Good luck!
Go to a Barber shop, a real one and tell the Barber that you want a shampoo to rid your baby of the cradle cap. I believe there is a shampoo made by Lion that will take care of it. My son had cradle cap back in the 70's. It was very easy to get rid of. Also a beauty supply may know what to use.
Mother of five: baby oil, or olive oil and soft brush at least twice a day.
Put a bit of baby oil on your babys scalp. Let it sit for a minute to soak in. Gently stroke the scalp with a soft baby brush. It will take a few days for it to brush off completely. Don't over do it, though. You don't want to irritate your baby's head.
And to some of the posters before me - yes, you can be too rough! Don't forget about the soft spot.
My son had cradle cap even after I did the oil and brushing (soft toothbrush works really well). My doctor said it was okay to use Selsen Blue if it keeps returning, but make sure it does not get into baby's eyes.
