Soft spot on a baby's head?

the soft spot on my baby's head is moving up and down and you can feel a heartbeat in it. is that normal?

Answer:
It is completely normal. The "soft spots" on a baby's head allow the skull to continue to grow with the brain. They generally close completely by the time a child is 1 years old.

Some people have advised against touching the soft spot. Certainly you should not be rough with it; however, there's no need to panic if you've lightly brushed it (or even accidentally bumped it softly). The brain is covered with a very thick "skin" called the dura mater. It will protect the "exposed" brain from normal day-to-day contact.
Yes. There are blood vessels running through the area.
Very normal. It will go away in a couple months...sometimes it takes until the baby is a year old.
Very normal.

don't worry about this. just don't be pressing on it or anything.
Completely normal...around age one all of her soft spots will have completely disappeared...and obviously you won't be able to see it moving. Congrats on the new baby!
yes, it's normal. And it can become more pronounced if the baby gets sick or dehydrated.
Yes normal, but you shouldn't be touching it. By pressing on it you can cause damage to babies brain

Yes it is completely normal. My son is almost 5 months old and when he was a few weeks old, I could see his soft spot at the top of his forehead, but now as he's gotten older, it's moving more towards the top of his head.
yes it is normal its just that he/she needs time to get bigger.
Yes that is normal
yes it is normal, maybe you just havent noticed it before
The babies soft spot is there to allow the babies skull to change shape while in the birth canal. It does not hurt to touch the soft spot very easy. You can tell a lot from the soft spot. If it is firm and extended the baby needs to be seen by a doctor. You also need to keep an eye to insure it does fully close . There are cases when the soft spot did not close and surgery was required to fix it.
