My 4 mths old baby drink milk , less than the average standard how should I encourage her to take in more??
Answer:
maybe she does not need anymore ... all babies are different (i am sure you have heard that though). so some take more than average, some take less than average ... i am sure your baby is taking in just the right amount for what they need. if you are very concerned, talk to your doctor. but for the most part, try not to worry about standard and average, your baby will let you know how much and how often they need to eat. take care!!
First you and your baby should be in a quiet place - no distractions. Secondly, if your baby constantly falls alseep while drinking, gently rub her earlobes and you will find your baby waking up and sucking some more. Also keep burping by gently patting her/his back and put the nipple back into the mouth. Please be calm - and do it with love. Babies can get the vibes of the mother through touch. You and your baby will be fine... no need to worry. As long as the baby passes urine 6 times and stool once a day, she is doing well. Looks like its your first baby and you want the best - well, you are doing well. Keep it up !
One Doc said ideally a baby should gain 900 grams per month.
yeah, you want a healthy baby, don't you?
Ok, I may be misunderstanding what you have written; but I am going to answer it as it is written. If your 4month old is drinking milk, you are incorrect! At 4 months old he/she should still be on breast milk or formula. If I did misunderstand then I apologize. As for the less than average, stimulate her; by rubbing the bottoms of her feet, her ears, talk to her, ther are many ways. I didn't use a schedule for either one of my kids when breast feeding. I did the let them tell me when they were hungry concept. I found that feeding on demand of the baby kept us happy. Good Luck
don't compel the baby. doctors advised me not to force the child to take the food or milk. but see to that if the baby is suffering with any indigestion of stomach upset. watch the baby for 2 or three days, then u can go for doctors advise.
Young as they are, babies know their appetite. They cry when they need milk just like when they need a diaper change. lt's not a good idea to feed them more than what they ask for. However, if you think it is way less than a baby should take, only a pediatrician can say so. :)
my son only eats for like 15 min i wasn't sure he was getting enough but the doctor says hes gaining Waite and hes normal so as long as your baby is gaining Waite hes fine don't force him to eat more that he wants to or he will get a upset tummy, by the way at 4 months you usually want to start on rice cereal but talk to your baby's doctor about that first
i don't think u should be so stressed...Our babies are smarter than us because they know instinctively how much to drink or eat.Is her weight normal? If it is ,you don't need to worry
As long as she is gaining weight, than you wouldn't worry about it too much. My 81/2 month old daughter still isn't drinking as much as a "normal" 81/2 month old, but she is gainging weight okay. So as long as the docotor isn't worried about your babies weight, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
