How does a woman in prison find adoptive parents for her new born baby?

I was wondering how a woman who gives birth who still has a long time to serve find adoptive parents for her baby. That is if she dosent have family to take the baby.Would social service in that county just come and take the baby or does the mother have the ablity to choose adoptive parents just as with outher adoptions. Is this diffrent or regulated the same?

Answer:
Is this just a curiosity question or do you know some one who is thinking of giving a baby up for adoption? If there is some one there is a lady on FeelBaby.com looking to adopt a baby. Her nick name is coloradolivn, try talking to her.
Depending on the situation, CPS might just take the baby into custody for foster care until she is released. If a family member can keep it, that might be done also. Just depends on what she is up for, what she has done in the past, and what she wants to do now.
My cousin was in prison in california and they told her to either have someone come get the baby or they were putting the baby up for adoption. Im sure the laws are different in every state
