It says to use weight if possible, otherwise you age.
HOWEVER it is criminal of your doctor not to provide pain relief after cirucumcision. Firstly I would call the pharmacist at your local drugstore and ask them what the would recommend. If the pharmacist can not recommend anything over the counter call the doctor's service, go to a clinic, or go to the ER and get something for it!

I have given mine .4 mil of Infant Tylenol when he is very bad off.
On the infant dropper it has like .8 I would give a fourth of the dropper. Just barely a drop of the dropper. Thats what I did with my son who was only 5 days old when he was circimsized. A 1/4 is actually too much for that age.
Hell-o. Yes I have given my children and grandchildren tylenol when they need it. For his age you can give him a 1/4 of a teaspoon every 4-6 hours. Doctors say children that young does not feel pain. but i no they do. Im with you all the way. I know you should listen to doc, but you also have to use common sense. After all it's your child. Good luck. I hope they take your advice.
I would call my local emergency room and ask them. Or a pharmacy that is open. I wouldnt risk getting an answer from someone on here...But, that's me i am paranoid sometimes...
It has been so long since mine were that small so I don't remember the dose but I remember giving them Tylenol when they were newborn. Find the correct dosage and give it to him. I am sure he is in pain and it will help him sleep.
Every pediatrician says not to give an infant tylenol until they are around 2 months or so, and when you have to, to give them .4, which is half a dropper, that comes with the tylenol, and only when they have a fever..Why in the hell would you wait until that baby is 2 weeks to get circumsized..thats just cruel..you should have done it at birth..
OK -- I have a two month old baby and I have given her tylenol. I only give her half a dropper full because she is under 12 pounds. When I took her for her shots last week, that's how much the doctor advised me to give to her. They did mention, though, not to give a child under the age of six months any ibuprofin - so stick with the tylenol...it shouldn't hurt a thing. Any MY GOD - what kind of doc doesn't give a poor kid any pain meds when he's doing a circumcision? That just sounds cruel!
Poor guy. Infant tylenol is great stuff. It is pretty much all they gave my son after open heart surgery. The package does not give you amounts for really young babies, but my pediatrician gave me a chart that showed how much. 1/4 teaspoon sounds like way too much. My son only got .7 on the dropper at 4 months old. Please call the pediatrician or surgeon. I have never heard of the two month limit.

My pediatrician wouldn't let me give tylenol to my son until 2 months. Try calling the OB department of the hospital where he was delivered and ask what you should do. Be sure to ask for an OB nurse. If your hospital doesn't have an OB department, see if the ER doctor has any suggestions or will maybe (longshot) call the baby's pediatrician. Might try putting a cold cloth around the uhm "injury". Don't know if it will help, but sounds reasonable.

I only do it in an emergency and in very tiny amounts. I just saw on the news that this time of year overdosing is the leading cause of infant death. Some babies had fourteen times the amount needed in their systems so be very careful. Good luck!

Both my sons were given Tempra (or infants Tylenol) when they were circumcised and each time they've been immunized.
It is best to give it to them 30 minutes before needles as it kicks in before they need it and minimizes their discomfort.
When they were circumcised they were given it immediately after and every 4 hours for the first day or two. Then I gave it to them as needed after that. It tends to make babies sleepy (at least mine) afterwards so make sure you feed him before if you can.
The directions on the bottle say:

Your sister should call the doc who did the procedure (unless it was the doc who said no meds) or the local children's hospital.
The poor boy should not be allowed to suffer.
remember infant tylenol is more concentrated than children's tylenol.
You need to call a doc or pharmacist to get the correct dose based on his weight.
Don't give him 1/4 tsp of infant tylenol, that is too much.
I agree that you should have done it at birth. My son was born in October and he was immediately circumsized and within a week, his ring had fell off and he was healed. He never acted like he was in pain, not even when I changed his diaper. They did advise me to drop a few drops of cold water onto the area at every diaper change, though. You might try that...it cleanses the area and might soothe him. I would not risk giving him any medications without talking to a pharmacist or MD...even though you didn't want to hear that, you need to think about the infant's wellbeing.
When my daughter got her 2 week check up, she needed a shot, and the doctor said that I could give her .4 on the infants tylonel. BUT, it does matter on weight. My daughter was also almost 9 pounds, and dosage does go by weight. Call a pharmacy that's open and see what they think.
